***Official January 2015 SAT (US ONLY) THREAD***

im having trouble with inconsistensy in reading… i go from high 700 to low 700’s so i need to work on that somehow

As SOON as we finish the test (for me, as soon as I get home ill be discussing), let’s all post the math and writing answers for the hard questions, especially the math grid-in, last few math multiple choice questions, and the writing sentence identification problems (Try to remember those that were No Error, as well!).

And guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let’s not talk about the curve or which section was the experimental section until we can form a concensus on what the answers are. It makes sense to first post the answers, then let everyone see which ones they got right and wrong, and then think about the curve based on how difficult those questions were.

@HeyMrSwag‌ Let’s do this

11 days!!!

God help me on this test. I may not be going for 1900s or 2000s like everyone else but I need to get in the 1700s to get into PSU.
Hopefully Gruber’s prep book will help.

Anyone have any ideas on how we should approach the last week or so of preperation?

My plan for the last week is:
Doing 2 ( Or preferably 3 ) more practice tests
Review all the vocab words on my quizlet sets and try to cram some more only if I have enough time and if my mind hasn’t exploded yet :expressionless:
Read over my list of prepared examples for the essay, and find some more.
I’m good with Maths, so I’m not gonna waste time on it lol.
Read over the list of grammar rules and the errors I made and take note on previous practice tests.
Hmm… I don’t know if I have enough time for this since I’m also dealing with all the AP hw at school, and soccer conditioning. I’m really terrified right now, just 11 more daysss!!!

As for me I’ve got CR more or less down - I consistently get 800s (-1 or -2s) on the BB tests - so I’m not even going to worry about that anymore. Maybe I’ll cram some vocab the day before the test.

For writing: I’ve got to review the grammar rules the night before the test. I normally do fairly well on the MC, but the essay is more subjective. I guess I’ll study a bunch of historical/literary examples.

Math kills me though; I never get anything better than -3 or -4. Does anyone have any advice for Math? I want an 800 but at this point I just can’t see it happening.

Does anyone know how i can improve my reading score from the low 600s to the high 600s and low 700s. My main problem is i get wrong all the 4 and 5 difficulties. I have a problem recognizing what the “trick” and “hard” questions are. Does anyone know how i can improve my score?

Final 10 days. How are you guys reviewing for the SAT?

^Trying to minimize mistakes in Math practice for the 24th but I’m screwed.

CR and Writing I think I’ll be alright as long as I don’t make an a** of myself on the essay.

9 days.

I’ll be taking the SAT for the first time next Saturday… I’m so stressed guys!!! Wish me luck :stuckouttongue:

Hey I’m also taking the sat next week, and on the practice test I get good scores in cr and writing. However, my math scores are not anything special. Do you guys have any tricks for geometry?

A week left

I’m screwed.

Hello all, first time taking SAT in Jan. Very nervous. Hoping to only have to take it one time.

I’ve done 4 practice tests so far and got 2210, 2330, 2130, and 2240.
I feel like my score fluctuates SO much, like a slightly easier test will bump me up by a whopping 200 points!!!
Do you guys think January test will be easier? Because the October test killed me.

@singeorgina‌ What did you get on the October test? And what were your practice test scores before the Oct test?

What are you guys aiming for? And does anyone know in the past how the January SAT has compared in difficulty and curve leniency to other tests throughout the year?

@jamanda‌

I’m aiming for a 2400 haha but I know that’s not going to happen :persevere:
I suck at the math section
