***Official January 2015 SAT (US ONLY) THREAD***

Really hoping for a 2350+. I’ve been preparing for a little less than a year…

@satgirl2015‌
What scores are you getting on the BB practice tests?
I consistently screw up math…

@collegenow111 I usually get 770-800 Reading and Writing, 750-800 Math. Highest I’ve gotten on a practice test was 2360.

What were the difficulty levels of the most recent SAT tests? Yeah I know this kind of guessing is unreliable, but if we know which part is harder than usual on the December and October tests, maybe we can guess which part will be more difficult on this January test. I have a friend who took the October SAT one, and he said that the Math is slightly harder but the rest are kinda easier? He got a 2000 btw. Another friend of mine who scores around 2000-2100 in the July test got over 2300 on the October one.

I am so nervous for this upcoming SAT test. How is everyone prepping for the this week? I keep getting -5~-7 on my writing multiple choice and I don’t know how to fix that. Please give advice! Desperate!!

@satgirl2015 How do you get 770-800 on your Writing portion? I’ve googled up stuff and read a bunch of grammar books and I always seem to miss 5-7…

This is my first time taking the SAT (I have taken the ACT twice before this but I like this test better.) I need to get a 1420 or a 1490 (CR+M) to get automatic scholarships at two different schools but I’m really struggling. I got a 1330 on te first practice test I took I think with my math and reading scores being about the same. Does anyone have any advice on how to at least get the 1420? It really feels like I’ll never reach it. :frowning:

HarvardVines, I am starting to study for the sat but I dont know where to start if you dont mind helping? Should I take practice tests first and then do the books? What if I want to raise all my scores equally? I havent taken an SAT yet nor a full mock, but I guess there is a significant amount I can improve in all areas. Please let me know :slight_smile:

@HarvardVines‌

taking the january sat, my first time… good luck to everyone! test day is almost here- yikes.

4 days!!!

is January historically a tougher/easier exam? or is there no pattern?

@College123college‌ , I don’t think there is an obvious pattern. So it might be easy or might be hard, we won’t know.

Good luck to everyone taking the SAT! This is my first time, so I hope I can do well and get it over with. If anyone has any tips, they would be much appreciated. Thanks!

@Viaza915‌
Hey!
If you had enough time, I would recommend doing the books and then the practice tests. However, since the test is fast approach, I suggest taking a section practice test in each subject and then only using books to learn what you are missing, such as certain grammar rules, math topics, or difficult passage questions.
Good luck

@HarvardVines‌ I forgot to say I was taking it in May not January :slight_smile: So books first? Any section first or should I vary them across the week? Any books you would recommend?

Have you taken it before? How much did you get?

Praying for an easy reading section. 3 days…

First SAT in THREE days!!! Trying to not panic… Critical Reading, please be kind to me. :slight_smile:

SAT Gods, I beg of you; bestow me with a math section I can understand and with a not-shi**ty essay prompt!

Just finished my very last practice test, and starting to feel apprehensive. My practice scores are actually going DOWN…

^^^ lol same… I need to pull off 800 math and writing… somehow.
