*OFFICIAL* January 28, 2006 SAT Thread

"I still assert authority & flair. ;p"

Go us!

I think it's "authority and flair" too...because she was going nuts over the different features of mechanical pencils, and it reminded me of those fashion segments before the Academy Awards and all those other shows (where the "fashion mavens" are like, "Darling, your dress is faaaabulous etc. ect.)

it should be were! Why isn't it "were". I mean, you'd say the team members "were" tapping the reserves

By fashion maven, you mean authority and flair, right? (Say yes) ;D

I put no error for that... that was one of the trickiest one; and doesnt "were" refer to the team members?

yeah...sorry, I fixed it :)

"I put no error for that... that was one of the trickiest one; and doesnt "were" refer to the team members?"

Yeah, i put no error too. Were refers to the team members, yes.

Okay, so like 5 people for "authority and flair" so far...c'mon...

I also put E (no error) for the team members thing. Is that the climbing and tapping energy thing? If so - my friend put "what was beginning to". He thought it should have been "had begun".

Every conclusion so far I've agreed with except the 700 compensation math one....it was something like...

300 + .2x = 200 + .25x

so.......x = 2000, i believe? this one's in my blind spot.

I think I misread what the problem wanted us to solve for, and snice it was a fill in the blank, didn't catch my mistake. What was it asking?

the total compensation, so either 300+.2(2000) or the other, which is 700

I agree completely with the maven one, authority and flair, rather certain about this (scrabble anyone?). Ah and I'm not sure I remember the team members thing, but I think you're right Julina.

Irish_hopeful, the Q asked for the TOTAL COMPENSATION of each worker, NOT the amount of money raised from the sales alone. Thus 300 + 2000(.2) = 700 = 200 + 2000(.25).

does anyone remember which math question had the answer of 30?

Was it the one with a straight line and 4 angles on it? 3 Ys and 1 X. It asked for what value X had to be so that Y would be an integer. And the answer was 30?

oh yeah, cha ching...got it right for that math question

Ah yeah, thats right :) I remember making a mistake thinking that to be 2X & 2Y but corrected it later.

Do you guys remember the one with like:

...exists the limitless number of blah blah.... were

it seemed to contain 2 errors, A and C. anyone recall this?

Will there be an eventual posting of all 99% sure correct answers on difficult problems? It's scattered throughout this thread but took me about an hour to read...we are compassionate SAT takers no?

I hope so, We are! :)

I have one question, doesn't our discussion of SAT questions going against copyright infringements, since specifically after the SAT is over, it says DO NOT discuss the SAT questions after leaving (only the essay topic after scored)?? Oh well...
