Official January Sat 2 Math Level 2 Discussion Board

oh for the geometric sequence problem, the first one is 3 right?
LOL i didn't understand the ratio of 2 part...
it just meant
48-->24-->12-->6-->3
right? -_____-

Yeah, it was 3.

"as for the last one
it was |x+3|<5
i put down x is less than 5 away from -3, or whatever that one was; B?
is that right? my dad agrees with me lol"

No. I am almost positive that that is not right. I graphed it and did not get that

Oops. i also misread the question and put three (for the gloves)
damn, are you guys SURE its four?

R R G G B B (Or whatever the colors were)

pull a R
pull a G
pull a B
the fourth one will give you a match

No, about the answer. I thought it asked you how many you needed to pull out before you were sure that the next one was matching.

Either flyaway and i did it wrong, or you did it wrong. O_O
Or the directions. AH THE DIRECTIONS.

well think about it
|x+3|<5
that means -8<x<2 right
so then x has to be less than 5 off from -3
oh well

Either way, i don't quite remember the directions and i'm sure you don't remember it exactly so we'll just look at the score :)

I just want an 800...lol.

don't worry too much about it.
the people here (most likely) didn't get all of them right.
we all put our answers because we thought they were right; and some of them are probably wrong.

All we can do now is wait for the results.

Agree or disagree?
Math level 2
1) the f(100) pattern problem: value is 1?
2) the isoscleless triangle, I think is 84.1 or something around there?
3) the absolute value problem was it A? distance between x and 3 is less than 5(?)
4) the probability that the sum is greater than 5 with inclusive intergers 1 to 10 and with replacement? (0.5)

^
1. agree
2. agree
3. disagree. its definately B, according to my math teacher; |x+3|<5 means distance from -3 is less than 5
4. no its 0.9

kissthesky:
Either flyaway and i did it wrong, or you did it wrong. O_O
Or the directions. AH THE DIRECTIONS.

im pretty sure we did it wrong. my friend also got 4. but then again, he couldv gotten it wrong too -_-
darnit, i wish i rememebred the directions

Also what score should I expect with a raw score of 35?

^princeton book says 720

i think im going to sit here until i can make up my mind to cancel or not hahahahha xD

don't remember.

? dont remember

Agree. I got A.

I don't remember.

:)

ok, flyaway. Your right, I misunderstood the problem. B is right. I got .9, too

flyaway what question you referring to about '4'?

agree

i dont remember this problem at all

i put B, but after reading the other posts.. i'm not so sure anymore =(

i put 0.9

4=# of draws pairs of mittens or socks or watever with RGB

that one question asking if the 2 sets had the same mean, range, and standard deviation..

can someone explain the answer to me? thanks.

i think the numbers were 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 for one set, and 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 for another.

i think i got confused about the definitions of range and standard deviation.. =/

Yeah, it was .9 b/c there are only 10 ways for the sum to be less than/= 5. 10/100= .1

1-.1=.9
