Official january sat physics discussion thread

Did any of you guys have iffy questions? Anyone want to share as soon as all US subject tests get out?

it was bad…really wanna cancel my score…left 3 blanks…part A was so hard…im just not well prepared…cuz im not even in a physics class =(((((

You left just 3 blanks and you’re upset?

and i guessed most of the questions …can you recall any question? i remember there was one about…which is not the electromagnetic wave…have no idea what that is…

Exactly. I was about to ask that. I thought it was C: When a wire was first connected to a battery, since I thought, it only gave out electromagnetic field and not waves per say. But, I think it was electron moving at constant velocity. Since, electric field needs acceleration. But, idk

i put the capacitor one…dunno if it is C…no idea =(…part A was just awful…

I honestly have no idea how I did. I’m pretty sure it isnt capacitor. I’m pretty sure my answer of C is wrong too.

what were the other choices…

electron in constant velocity [i think this is the answer]
electron in constant acceleration [definately produces EM waves]
capacitor [i’m 90% sure it produces EM waves]
wire initially connected to a battery
im not sure about the last one.

Also, about the question where the conductor is attached to on the plates of the capacitor, i ticked : Capacitance increases, charge remains same and voltage decreases.

yes i put that one…pretty sure about that one…can you recall any part A question?

The melting graph, which specific heat was greater. I put in the one with the greater slope. Since, if it heats with lesser time, it should have higher specific heat

i put no net force one A in first exercise.constant velocity A.oppositr velocity B and maximum kinetic energy one with parabola with points further sfter each point.

There were only 3 questions for me i think:
0 Net force => Equally spaced dots
cONSTANT momentum => Equally spaced dots
Increasing Kinetic Energy => Dots in parabola becoming father apart.

shouldnt it be low specific heat…?

oh ye but i dont recall momentum one i remember opposite velocity with dots becoming less appart

I’m not really sure. Oh wait, yea. Crap  I screwed up.

i put force with 30 incline horizontal component in second one and in first one opposite force on this force is wheels by axls or s,th

What was the question exactly critmaster?

There is on cart some constant force F with incline 30 to horizontal.whats the opposite force of this force i mean newton third law.i put force made on wheels by axis or soemthing and horinzotal component on second question.

I dont remember what I put in.
