@hrappuhn HOW did you get that 790 in CR. I’ll trade you my 770 in math and 790 in writing. Please give me resources/advice or something

Composite: 2390
CR 790
M 800
W 800 (80 with a 9 essay)

This was my first general SAT test, and I have mixed feelings about this since I was only one question away from getting a 2400…but at the same time I am happy with my score. Definitely not retaking!

@mistswirl I also got an 80 with a 9 for writing and got a 790…are you international?

Comp: 2170 (up from 2000 in a month!)

700 CR
670 Math (why :(( )
800 Writing
10 Essay

I haven’t seen any math scores between 740 and 670… what other scores were possible?

2nd time taking
Composite: 2310 (no super score, each section went up from previous time)

Math: 800
Writing: 770 - 9 essay (don’t know what happened with the essay)
CR: 740

I’m going to say I’m really happy with this score, and not retaking.

1st time taking
Composite: 2200
Math: 800
Writing: 770 (essay: 9 - lowest essay I’ve ever written )
CR: 630 (horrible, I know)

definitely retaking!!

Can anyone please give me some tips as to how to improve my CR score? I would settle for 700 or above, but where I’m at right now is pretty bad. I’ve taken all the blue book tests but my CR score isn’t going up! so frustrating

@sirclutch dope ass avi, cant wait for the album. And you killed that test, beat me by 70 haha

For anyone who got over a 2300 on the SAT, what did you use to study for the CR and the Writing sections?

Composite: 2370

Break-down:
- CR: 770
- MATH : 800
- WRITING : MC 77 and 12 ESSAY

I studied through the blue book, the Barrons big book, the Barrons math/writing/critical reading workbooks (all 3 of them), and then just took a 2 week course in 9th grade for the SAT from Excel SAT Prep. After that, I kept on going to the Exam Club service they offer (where you can take a practice SAT every weekend for free for 4 years (started in 9th grade)) and a bit of luck factored in too (with the easy writing and essay prompt.

@Hawkace I got a 2330 on this past one: 800 M 770 CR 760 W.

For the writing, I honestly didn’t do that much. I did all the practice tests from the blue book, then analyzed which problems I was missing. I looked for any similarities, and once I found a pattern I just went on the internet and looked up the grammar rules for the types of problems I was missing. As for the essay, I got an 8, so I’m pretty sure you don’t want my help on that.

Now, onto Critical Reading. Vocab is honestly the biggest thing. Memorize a ton of vocab. I didn’t try this, but memorizing Latin roots can help a TON with random words. For the passages, I just took the blue book practice tests. I really can’t think of anything that would help with Passage Based Questions other than practice.

Hope I helped in some way!

First attempt. 4 weeks of prep.
Math- 760 (probably got one wrong). Those who skipped one got 770s. 97th percentile
Writing- 730. 74 with 9 on the essay.
CR- 670
Total 2160. Writing got screwed up because the proctor didn’t give all 25 of our minutes for the essay. Had to do it within 20. Don’t know what happened in CR. I thought it went pretty well. Not satisfied. Retaking in May.

1st Time Taking
Composite Score: 2390

- CR: 790
- Math: 800
- Writing: MC 80 and 10 Essay

I honestly didn’t think I would get this score! I never got to finish my second body paragraph or include a conclusion for the essay so I was surprised to get a 10. My practice tests had been consistently around the high 2200’s - low 2300’s so this was a shocker to say the least.
9th grade PSAT: 169
10th grade PSAT: 208
11th grade PSAT: 227
This improvement came with a ton of practice. My suggestion: get the Blue Book, 11-Practice Test Princeton Review, the English I and II vocab cards (I didn’t memorize all of them because I got lazy but they did help), and the internet for real SAT tests. Most of all, don’t procrastinate - good luck guys!

I haven’t received my scores yet :/

CR: 790
M: 770
Wr: 630 9 essay
Comp: 2190
I didn’t prepare at all, and this is my first time taking it, so I’m fairly happy.
A bit annoyed at the math score though, i had really expected an 800. Also surprised by the cr, i thought i missed a lot of questions on my first section, apparently not. So missed 1cr 1m and a bunch of writing.
Pretty confident i can 800 the math.
Happy with cr.
Gotta work on writing though.
I didn’t really know what to do for the essay though, and didn’t fill the 2 pages. Also yeah, if i just get a review book i feel i should easily be able to superscore a 2300+ after another seat.
Anyone have any recommendations for preparing for the essay or writing?

@StevenToCollege
I really don’t know, but probably around 3 to 4 wrong in multiple choice for writing.

I am completely dumbfounded.
1st time taking.
CR:560

Composite: 1880

I’ve taken over 10 practice tests with simulated environment. Consistently scored over a 2000. I’ve had a high of 2200. I completed the test with ease and believed it to be the easier one i’ve taken. Could they have confused writing sections??

I’m already signed up for a retake since we had to sign up before January scores are available… that math score is annoying but I know I can bring it up at least to a 750 with practice. Also should probably improve vocab because I know I got lucky and there were a number of words I didn’t recognize on the real test.

^ESAT45 I am in the same situation except I never broke 2050 in any of the 50 practice tests I have taken.

Does anyone have an estimation of the Math curve?
