<p>There's no guarantee that the admissions staff wants to fill the same percentage of applicants this year with ED as last year. In fact, that's probably NOT the case, given the fact that all of Daniel's posts have expressly stated that it isn't about NUMBERS, it's about the QUALITY of applicants. If there aren't 524 highly-qualified applicants who the readers think to be great fits for Hopkins, then there won't be that many admits. </p>
<p>In other words, don't be too quick to make assumptions based on math...in reality, admissions at a highly selective school will NEVER be about just statistics. That's why it's a holistic process. :-)</p>
