General Comments: Kind of a letdown, but there are other places out there for me.

just realized a bunch of these posts might be fake. See fapyfapy:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-illinois-urbana-champaign/1258226-official-uiuc-class-2016-decisions-thread-6.html#post13612930

Completely different set of stats and now claims he’s from MD instead of Michigan.

Stop ■■■■■■■■, fapy and others. It makes you look like ****. Can’t wait to hear what kind of excuse you come up with.

It feels great to know that my first and last post on this website is to say I got accepted into the Johns Hopkins University.

In the past few months, I have spent an unhealthy and self-detrimental amount of time on this masochistic website. This site has depressed me on countless occasions, yet I kept coming back to it, for reasons only God can tell me.

I don’t want to post my stats because honestly, they will not give you enough insight into the type of applicant I am. My stats are pretty run-of-the-mill, maybe even a tad below average when compared to the regulars on the forums of top colleges on this site (then again, this site is littered with trolls, so who knows which stats are real and which stats aren’t). Although my scores were a few points below JHU’s average, I made up for them by luckily making a cohesive application, which I didn’t fully realize until way after I submitted my application. My essays, extracurriculars, and teacher recommendations all emphasized the same aspect of my personality that I, and others, believe is unique. And that is what colleges want: someone unique. For those of you who were rejected/deferred, do not waste time blaming your SAT scores or yourself. You’ve accomplished a lot, try to take the time to be proud of that. There are so many other colleges out there. Hopkins isn’t the end-all-be-all school. Polish your other applications. Re-read your essays and make sure they are an accurate reflection of how you are viewed by others and yourself (I had a good essay, but I ultimately decided to write a new essay just a few days before the deadline because I realized that it honestly did not encompass who I am.)

Another word of advice: stop lurking this site. I’m sorry, but the small slivers of profound words do not make up for the amount of garbage that’s constantly being spouted by others as factual information. Any high school seniors who are reading this right now, trust me, this whole “post your stats/chance me” crap is not an accurate criteria to base your chances of getting accepted into the college of your choice. Colleges post their average SAT scores and class rank/GPA on their website. Use that and aim to beat those scores. Colleges want passionate humans, not short-sighted fools who’ll listen to anything that an anonymous poster on a website tells them.

Excuse the rant, but I just had to say this. For myself and all those who were deprecated by the callousness of the majority of the people on this site.

Well, I’m off to enjoy the rest of my night, indulging in ice cream and envisioning my first walk across Johns Hopkins beautiful campus as not a prospective student, but as a part of the talented Class of 2016. Congratulations to my fellow Blue Jays, good luck to everyone else, and to all, I wish you a good night and a good life.

Hey guys I just think it was fapy let’s not call everyone with low stats a ■■■■■.

Rest assured that I am not trolling. I got deferred, nothing exciting about that.

UIUC post= ■■■■■… this one=real… had to withdraw my app from that school after being accepted here anyways…
But ya, I did get a 350W and I thought JHU was a 1600 school anyways…?
Also, please do not make fun of me, I’ve certainly seen lower stats get accepted to JHU and as far as I know, my recs/essays could have been good; I’m just extremely critical and pessimistic. Anyways I’m in the 25th percentile for SAT scores so don’t act overly surprised (especially considering that this is ED). I guess you have no reason to trust me after UIUC but I don’t really care to be honest. I was just teasing a friend and I have no personal gain from this so I’m not concerned what people think of me. Good luck to other applicants though.
