OFFICIAL Johns Hopkins University Class of 2014 RD Applicants

Crap, I wonder why I thought we got contacted for interviews… Oh well, have to wait until January 5th to request now. =/

Hi all!

I’m from MN, and my interests at JHU lie in the Writing Seminars and Anthropology programs (I absolutely love both). I applied ED to Barnard College of Columbia University and UChicago and was deferred at both places. Regular decision, I’ve applied to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Swarthmore, NYU, Vassar, the U of MN (accepted!), and Northwestern.

Good luck to you all! I’ll be around. :)

Are we supposed to receive information for an account after applying?

I applied in November but never got a confirmation from JHU itself, only Common App.

^ A friend who applied for ED never received any confirmation either, but he was admitted. He did call them to make sure that they received his stuff. I suggest that wait until the end of January and if by that time, you still have received anything, call them.

Hello all, I am applying as a biology major from St. Louis. :D

Howdy y’all!! I applied to Johns Hopkins from good ole Arkansassy. I am hoping to study within their History, African Studies, and Behavioral Biology departments; they all look fabulous. Good luck to all of us! :)

Thank you, AdmissionsDaniel!

WOW! I cant believe that we really only have around three months and then acceptance letters  and rejection letters :frowning: come in the mail!

3 months is a long time… :(

This is the first college I’ve seen with an Admission officer who posts regularly. That’s convenient and interesting. I wish all of you the best of luck in the admissions process and remember if you’ve done your best then you have nothing to regret, despite what college admission decision you will get. I was rejected during Stanford’s Early Application round and I say this because I don’t want any applicants who get their decisions in March to feel like they weren’t good enough or inferior. These top universities receive so many top notch applicants, that the majority of them have to be rejected due to space restraints. I obviously hope that isn’t me but what will be will be I suppose. God bless and good luck to all!

Hey guys, Rhode Islander here! Applied into physics/astronomy.

Can’t wait for decisions…

Hey guys, Rhode Islander here! Applied into physics/astronomy.

Can’t wait for decisions…

But you have to. Just like the rest of us.

You can’t just say that you can’t wait and expect to get an answer. That’s just crazy!

Hehehe

Good luck RD’ers!

Hey everyone!

I’m Jen from Pennsylvania :)

I’m majoring in Psychology, maybe a minor in Philosophy and doing pre-med prerequisites.

Who’s excited for March/April!!? It might be an acceptance, might be a rejection, but at least we’ll finally be certain about JHU!

Well last year, a large number of applicants applying to the Class of 2013 (I’m not talking about JHU in particular) were waitlisted, leaving them with the tiniest hope of acceptance, but a lack of proper closure. I’m predicting a repeat of that phenomenon this year.

^ greeeaaattt that will probably be me :/

Applied for BME, from California

ED Defer Applicant, from California. Biology/International Relations

@ srrinath: ohh yeah I completely forgot. I had a question about the wait list for everyone. If we get waitlisted, what is the general “deadline” for the college to notify you if you have been accepted from the waitlist or not?

Most deposits for schools are May 1st. I’m hoping it’s before May, because it would horrible if I sent my deposit in to another school and I get accepted from the waitlist of my first choice.
