Official June 10th ACT Discussion

Noodles and guardian--if the "short and to the point" answer is WRONG (and "rude" is definitely wrong), then it's not the best answer. Sounds like D might have been correct; lots of lousy writing is perfectly good English.

english - enough time to go back and reread each passage and check answers EASY
math - easy until the end...i think i missed about 4 but i suck at math.
reading - SUPER EASY
science - AHHHHH i barely finished on time and guessed randomly F on the last one.
Essay - not much of a prompt to work with but i guess it will be good.

yeah I had 280 degrees and 4 times sq rt 10

man that essay was so retarded lol. I think i got like a 5. I got pretty radical with it and said that it would bring us closer to a 1984esque society and that it would limit the freedom of the restaurant owner.

ohhhhh yeah i remember that problem now.... for that I got B or G but i can't remember the sides or whatever

the answer to that one was C Fandangoya

fandangoya- i think that one was c, because the two base angles were equal to begin with since it was an isosceles triangle, and the two angles were bisected, so all four of the angles created by the bisector were congruent

yes i also got 280 degrees...took me awhile

and "rude" is what i put on the reading passage "rude and impolite" is repetitive as were the other choices.

yeah 4sq.root 10 was one of the answers

English: apply to
or apply for

couldn't figure it out b/c i'm stupid like that

yeah the answer to that one was definitely rude. It was a redundancy question.

i'm pretty sure it's "apply to"

yeah i thought so too b/c rude and impolite are kind of the same thing

90% sure it was apply to

yeah trust me and ttlyswt because when i was using a practice book i would get questions like that wrong ALOT and it was always due to redundancy so i made sure not to miss that one.

he claims to have or to having a prarie eye

Yeah its apply to. It isnt like you were applying FOR a job or something. I believe the context was like this idea applies TO that, etc.

crap, i changed my answer to apply for b/c i freaked out last minute

also did you guys get a lot of "no change" answers and where the suggested sentences or transitions didn't fit into the passages b/c they didn't help with the point?

was the answer to the question in the prairie eye passage
whenever she sees a car stopping in the distance
"she has come out of the forest and into the field"
or something? I think that's what I guessed but was really unsure.

that's what i put about the forest and the praire question

i think he "claims to have" is correct
