Share tips, stories, vent, etc.

I’m completely not ready for it, but I’m going to a 30+ (even though last time I only scored a 25)… haven’t even started studying yet.

I really have a 35 in mind (doesn’t everybody?)!

It’s all about the timing for me. I don’t find the questions too convoluted, unlike the SAT.

I’m practicing the red book. I don’t think I can do well next week. I give up on the reading section.

I started studying today. I guess we’ll find out how it goes…good luck to everyone!

I am hoping for a 34+(my last was 29). Circumstances have prevented me from following my intended study plan; so, this week is it. I was planning on taking 1-2 practice tests per day leading up to it Any tips? Is my goal even doable?

@Obstructions I’m starting tomorrow! Talk about procrastination.

@Mlover It’s happened before! I think it’s all about strategies and timing.

Does anyone happen to know a good source for practice tests?!

I have a LOT of trouble on the reading section. After studying i have been able to raise all my scores except reading.

english - 31
math -34
reading -24
science -28

what do i do? HELP

Best of luck to everyone! My goal is at least a 30

My wish is a 36 but, I know that is NOT happening…(I won’t even come close) I plan on studying this summer. I have done some prep but, not enough. I have been really busy with school and also since school got out. (Was gone all last week for Girls State and, starting a 2 week hospital program tomorrow). I wish EVREYONE the best of luck! I hope we all suprise ourselves!!! :)

24 first time in may with no prep and a 20 on the trading with a 27 in math, 23 in grammar and 25 in science. I’ve further been prepping been getting consistent 27-28 on grammar and 25-27 on reading and math will go up. My goal is a 30 but will be very pleased with a 28 or 27

I’m hoping to get a 30 this Saturday. I got a 28 both times I’ve taken the ACT. My weakness is English, I consistently get high 20s on practice tests, but I’ve gotten a 23 and 24 on the real ACT. My strategy is to get atleast a 34 on math to leave some buffer room for my inevitably low English score, then I hope to get anywhere from 27-31 on Science and Reading.

Unfortnately this week is finals week for my school, so I won’t have much time to study for the ACT this week. Man, it sucks that this ACT is scheduled right after my last day of school :/

I ****ing swear that the reading is impossible to improve on. My english has gone from 27 - 35. My math has gone from 32 - 36. My science has gone from 27 - 33. My reading… hasn’t cracked a 24. I read it as slowly as i can and STILL can’t comprehend what i just freaking read.

@Idontgiveashiz how the hell did you make those improvements?! Please share

Is the practice test online not an accurate representation of the test? I found it much easier than the SAT and only missed a few questions.

For the english just know all those little rules including it/it’s, whom/who, etc. Don’t waste so much time on those long rhetorical questions. On math u just gotta be fast at doing math. On science idk. I’ve taken the real thing 6 times in a row (wasting a total of $198) and that helped too ( since you encounter the same types of questions over and over again) but I wouldn’t recommend it lol. My scores went like this zigzaggy ladder

28-29-30-29-31-29—and one more time this saturday. IM HEATED FOR SATURDAY

How did you manage the timing on the science part?

Lol “my wish.”

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

to be honest, every single time I took the science section I had to guess on a few at the very end. I did them in order and sometimes i read, sometimes i didn’t. In the ones with 2 or 3 different experiments (not the conflicting viewpoints) i would at least skim the reading portion. For the ones with mostly graphs and tables, you probably won’t need to read at all. Surprisingly enough, I find the conflicting viewpoints the easiest even though every time i flip to that page i have a panic attack.

Whenever I take a practice, I have an entire passage to read when time is called…
