Official June 2012 ACT thread!

Why is the website down? Ughhh…they need to fix this.

Composite-32

English-32 (expected)
Math-35 (how?)
reading-33 (up from 29:D)
science-28 (thanks a lot:P)

im starting to highly doubt the reliability of FOUR people on this thread having 36-36-36-36. They only happen about 100 times in a whole year, spread out across 6 test dates. Hmmmmmmm

if there’s a glitch, I’m going to be so angry.
but then again, the essay comments were all very positive (leading me to believe that I DID actually get a 12 essay leading to a 36 english), so I’m slightly doubting that there’s a glitch.

comp 35 +1
english 36 +2
math 35 +1
reading 36 +2
science 32 -3

i’m pretty ****ed. my science is quite low. but i guess i should be happy

there was a harsh ass science curve for the difficulty of the test…i got a 31 and could have only missed 3-4

@noxsing
I got the same feeling. My score dropped 4(***)!

Hey guys, I have a question. How in-depth do admissions look at ACT scores? Do they just glance at them and say, “Hey, this is a 32,” or “Look, a 34,” and then consider more carefully everything else? Or is it a lot more important? Basically, I got another 34, and I think I’m done, but I just want to make sure giving up on that 35 won’t hurt me significantly.

I’m not whining about my score, I just want to know if I should call it quits.

so i got a 31, is that adequate for high-end schools, like harvard, princeton, yale, etc?
I don’t know if i should take the september act and get around a 34-36 or take the sat for the first time…what do you think i should do?

Take the SAT. I think it’s easier, but I bet everyone will disagree with me. If time is your problem, go SAT no doubt.

I got a 30.25, which is kind of upsetting because I left 4 blank on science and 2 on reading.
Our proctor cut us short by 10 seconds so I didn’t have time to guess

Comp- 31 (Goal was 30 but I thought I would do better)

English- 26 (How??? I usually get 30+)
Math - 32(expected)
Reading - 34 (expected)
Science - 30 (did better than I thought but got a perfect science score on the PLAN, guess I got lucky)

Don’t know whether to retake. Got a 2090 on the June SAT??

@Trusso and NotElitist

I haven’t figured out how to view whether or not any questions were missed.

I’m sure at least half the people that do get 36’s are CC users, since this seems to be the internet hotspot for teenage overachievers, so although the truth of the high volume of 36’s here is improbable, I wouldn’t rule it out just yet! xD

Geez, I sure hope it’s not a glitch. I got a 35 on the state testing date, so seeing the 36 was shocking, but not absurd. It’s not like I jumped up from a 25 or something, and the essay comments were there, so it seems to be real.

EDIT:

Here are my essay comments. If the ones for Trusso and NotElitist are exactly the same, there might have been a glitch. Or they just have pre-selected comments for each score.

“Comments on Your Essay: Your essay addressed the complexity of the issue by evaluating its implications. Your essay effectively supported general statements with specific reasons, examples, and details. The logical sequence of ideas in your essay fit its persuasive purpose well. Your essay showed a good command of language by using varied sentences and precise word choice.”

How did you guys get your essays already? Mine isn’t in yet… But got a 28 Woohoo!!! got a 23 last time! Some of you might not think a 28 is good but i dont care man i think its awesome its 91 percentile and i know most of you get 30+. i highly doubt i’ll take it again unless i want to but i’m happy yeah!!! Highest score was English with a 30 =)

Second time got a 32 compared to 30. 31 E 29 M 31 R 36 S

disappointed with my math score but my science makes up for that lol. I’m done with this test.

I made a 26.
27 on English (A little lower than expected)
27 on Math (Higher than expected)
26 on Reading (Higher than expected)
23 on Science (Expected, but screwed up my composite score)

I definitely need to improve. I know a 26 is a ■■■■■■■■ score to most of you people on here, who get like 32-36, but I’m actually happy with it considering how hard I felt the test was and that it was my first time. I am going into my Senior year, so I took it later than most people, but my goal is a 28-30, so I should be able to increase it a few points in the next few months before I take the September or October test.

Wait what do you mean a glitch?
Would they make a mistake like that?

I want my 36…

If there is a glitch and my score is a mistake, I will actually cry. This was my first time taking it, and I really don’t want to do it again.

Composite-36
English-35
Math-36
Reading-36
Science-35
Essay-12

Sy2850-congrats on score increase of 5! Good job. Yes. 28 is fine.

Holy balls! I went from a 26 to a 32. Pretty happy!
