alargeblackman, did your 2380 and 2360 friends agree that the answer was " insistence on the family to gather" ?

yes, gt hopeful. they did.

And thank you for treating me with respect. Yes I was acting cocky but I really am adamant about my points…that’s it. If I’m wrong it’ll reflect in my scores because as of right now I’m sure I got over 2140…and I’m black. All I care about is full ride to duke, and stanford. I have a 3.8 uw gpa and I just want those two.

you know. quite frankly. if it wasnt for affirmative action, you wouldnt even get into any college. better yet any scholarship. if collegeconfidential blocks this… then my point is proven (i hope they do)

You’re kidding, right? a 3.8-4.0 is the range for most competitive colleges, so don’t give me any crap about not being able to get into colleges.

Woooahh, everyone calm down - please. We are here to discuss writing not affirmative action/GPAs. There is no need to act like a jerk online. Keep to the subject.

True that, does anyone remember any sentence completions?

@alarge I’m glad you know it’s true

Does anyone remember the “valley lay” question?

Anyone
Ok, quick question. I know people had different orders for their exams, but for people with the experimental writing section- was it the first writing section (like section 3) that was the experimental or the second one (like section 6 or 7)?

Also, what was the improving sentence structure part (like what was the passage about for questions #29-34) for the experimental section and for the real section if you don’t know the above answers?

Need to know this information. Thanks

Consolidate List of Answers, anyone??

@adcomb, why don’t you learn to go back a couple pages before asking? quite frankly no one is gonna baby you and look for you

For the experiment question (“for use in” vs “to use in”), I PM’d silverturtle about what the answer should be. According to him/her, the answer would indeed be “no error”.

No it was definitely to use in the experiment.

For those still curious. Insistence on/Insistence that are both grammatically correct. Insist(ence) that is an idiom tested on GMAT also. “That” is used in demands/commands on the GMAT as a signal of said demand.
Other sources I’ve read concluded the choice comes down to awkwardness and/or formality.

I’m not defending my answer choice, I don’t remember which I picked.

I put “insistence on” and my friend who scored an 800 on the March SAT writing also agrees that it is insistence on

idk bros, a lot of people are telling me that the answer is probably “insistence that”. I personally put “insistence on”. I remembered that on a CC.com tinychat, most of those guys agreed with “insistence on”. So, I don’t know what to think about my choice right now.

Right after my thesis I dropped this: "Progress functions synergistically with the cause-and-effect phenomena. I don’t even know…

Could we please steer from the controversial questions that have been discussed for the last 6 pages, and try to think of some additions to the list?

^the one about China in Section 10, second to last!
