@Greenwave: Who made the document in the link?

My friend scored a 2200 on her first try without any prep books. She only scored around 180 for her PSAT.

To all of you SATers out there:

I really hate ACT science, and it is bringing my composite ACT down. I’m great at English and Writing, and good at Math. Do you recommend the switch to SAT?

^ Yes, I was having similar difficulties and decided on the SAT and the Subject Tests.

A little late on this, but 2nd take, after some self-studying
CR 730
M 790
W 740
for a total of 2260. Considering my last score was a 2030 when I took it in December, I’m pretty happy. I used my cousin’s Barron’s SAT 2400 book and Barron’s Critical Reading Workbook. Both from 2006, addressing the current format of the test, so they still helped me despite the age. The Official SAT question of the day helped too, but eventually they seemed a little repetitive and it got to the point where I got them right every day.

@evynex, I created it two days ago. It is my own game plan to prep for the October test. Like I said, I’ve only taken the SAT once with zero prep and I was pretty tired (4 hours of sleep - I was still moving that week), I got a 1840. I just thought I’d share the document for anybody whose interested. The document includes a compilation of resources with good reviews from CollegeConfidential, Amazon, ext, and by reference from some of my friends who did well on the SAT.

@mynameismott, what did you get the first time?

2010- CR: 640, WR:670, MATH:700.
I was actually surprised because I was expecting a lower score.
It was my first time taking the test!

@Greenwave2015;
CR 630
M 680
W 720
Actually did worse on the essay this time yet my scores still went up all around.

this is pretty stupid, but what time are the detailed analyses released today?

^I believe around 5:00 A.M. EST. I’m looking forward to those as well.

2230
CR 730
Math 760
Writing 740

Why aren’t detailed analyses released yet? I thought it was at about 5 am EST.

2310

CR 800
Math 780
WR 730 Essay 8

Well…essay was pretty average…but I guess I don’t need to fret too much on SAT now.

lol…the curve for writing was apparently really good. I missed 2 questions (o.o) and got 11 essay and still got 800.

The curve for reading, on the other hand, was not so great. I missed 3 and got 760. I feel like under better circumstances I might have gotten 770 or 780 lol.

Writing Curve was beautiful, but CR curve was atrocious. 60 raw score for a 710. I doubt they even factored that horrible Jane Austen Passage in @.@

I got an 800 on CR even with the awful curve. But my writing score, which is usually great on practice tests, went down to a 700 even with the good curve. WHYYY i don’t even try at CR!!! I didn’t even check anything! This is my 2nd CR 800 in a row, but I wish I could get one in math instead to bring up my superscore. Been getting low 600s in math.

@prowlings you’re not gonna like this, but 2 wrong on CR was actually an 800.

Hey guys, will a score with some disparity (790 math, 670 in the others, 2130 overall) look good or bad for most colleges? My preconceived major is computer science, so math related. Gosh, that 1 question I missed in math is bugging me. I hate OCD…

I have a question based on Prowlings’ post…my child got 2 wrong on writing with a 12 on the essay but the score was a 790. How does that work out differently?
