CS: 2170 800 W 710 CR 660 M Wasn’t expecting that low of a math score! But w/ superscore I’ll be ok :)

took it again just for kicks without really prepping, despite a pretty good score the first time, and got a 2390! (800 M 800 R 790 W)

Such joy and agony all at once…so close to a 2400 haha

So happy! I took the June 2013 International test (which was also the March 2012 US test). This is my second time taking the SAT; I got a 2100 (770 M, 730 CR, 600W) in the November 2012 International test.

OK Umm I completely bombed CR? A 530? REALLY?

There is a national percentile, you know what it means? I got 98% and a 11 essay but only 730 writing :((

Is 1790 a decent score?

Houston, take the SAT again. With a 710 in reading and a 600 in writing you’re much too smart to be getting a 480 in math. Prepare a little and you’ll add a 100+ points to it.

I’m pretty disappointed with my score. I guess it’s my fault though, since I didn’t prep at all, even though it is my first time taking the SAT. I was expecting better in CR, since I got an 80 in the PSAT. Oh well, at least I still have plenty of time to retake it.

I am pretty happy with this. I just wanted to break 2000. I’m sure I will retake it in the fall and study for it (this was with 0 prep)

Thanks for the encouragement, dmt117.

I’m very happy with CR and Writing, but disappointed by Math. I knew it wouldn’t be as good as the other two, but I thought it might not be that bad. Should I re-take solely for the purpose of doing better on the Math section or not worry about it? I got a 32 on the ACT and am aiming for colleges like Rice. Both of those scores were with no prep.

Good?

Houston, how good a particular score is really depends on where you want to go. Your score of 1790 is at the 81st percentile:

Writing and math are the easiest sections to improve on. How quickly you improve in math may still depend on your natural facility, though. Personally, I improved my writing score of 600 to 790 after going through SparkNotes and doing the writing sections of about six practice tests.

Kinda disappointed. Hoped for 2200+ and a much higher CR score since i studied for it since January and I dropped from 650 to 640. Math I coulda gotten 800 but baah. WR im happy with. In the end i should be happy since i scored a 1960 on my first try but, ill be going once again in the fall for my desired 2200+ score
Grats to all of you on your scores!
