***official june 2013 sat 1 score thread***

Pace1967, that isn’t his score; you don’t add the multiple choice and essay scores to the composite because the writing score encompasses those numbers already. That’s good for a sophomore though! I can see him scoring well over 2100 with practice by his senior year.

Thanks yourbuddykira…new at this.
He is #31 in class of 477 with a 5.8 GPA
Wants to go to Baylor

Surpassed all my previous scores but still a lot of room for improvement,
Composite: 2060
CR: 720
M: 660
W: 680 (10 on the essay but crappy multiple choice score)

Better than my old 1960 I suppose.

Does anyone have any tips to raise an 1870 to at least a 2100? I finished my sophomore year and I really want to get my score up. Is it better to get the collegeboard blue book or to take the $70 SAT online course?

I’m a sophomore (to-be junior), and I just took my first SAT in June…2070…I’m really disappointed because i was going for 2100-2200…do you think I’ll be able to get there this year?
And should I send this score?

Composite: 2120
Reading: 710
Math: 740
Writing: 670

Third time taking it- got a 1960 January 2012. No prep/studying for either time. Writing score didn’t go up from last time but I was anticipating a bad score on the essay at least. Didn’t even gain points on writing multiple choice though! I was just hoping for over 2k though so I got that and I’m happy with it :)

Thoughts on this score for Northwestern, Northeastern, NYU, Boston University, Tufts and Brown? (I know it’s low for Brown, but a girl can hope, right?)

@swapnav97, it depends on the school you want to go to… because some schools see all your scores no matter what… I least I think so…

swapnav97 I would say definitely send those scores. I took it as an eighth grader, sophomore, and as a junior and my score went up 180 points from the first to second time and 160 points from the second to third time without any studying or prep. I’d say you can definitely get your scores to where you want them to be especially if you study even a bit. Good luck!

camliao I would say if you want a higher score then taking it again would be very beneficial. Especially on the essay it’s sometimes just luck on what questions you get so taking it again even shortly after having taken it. I raised my score 160 points from the second to the third time I took it and am even considering a fourth try. Good luck!

Composite: 2190
Math 680
CR 730
Writing 780 with 11 on essay.

Disappointed because I was expecting 2200+ Math was a real bummer, but still I acknowledge that it is a decent score.

Compared to everyone I got the lowest lol so im kinda disappointed but im happy i beat my siblings haha
620-wr
620-cr
520-math(argghhh i skipped a bunch and i suck :()
Composite: 1760

Do you think studying will move it up at least to 1900 maybe even 2000? If one hour a day at least?

How do I find my essay score? When I click “Understand Your Test Performance”, it says the report will not be available until June 25.

do not click on the “available online” in the right corner. Look at a column on the left, where there is a row called “SAT score” below your account. Click on that, and you’ll see another SAT score announcement, with essay score and raw MC writing score.

Thank you.

800 CR
800 Math
750 W 9 Essay

Second time taking it; I’m pretty happy with that score, but I think I could’ve done better if the essay had been optimal…

i gave SAT for the first time this June. I got 800 in Math and Writing (11 on essay) but 680 in the reading section. Overall I got 2280 but I am not sure whether I should retake it or not because the reading score matters more than writing and i didn’t get good in it. Should I retake it or not? Please help

Composite 1390
Sophomore- wasn’t ready?

How screwed am I?

March:
Math 660
CR 550
Writing 530 (Essay 10)

June:
Math 660
CR 550
Writing 530 (Essay 10)

I had the same score both times but studied for the second time. Would be possible to get above 2000 if I spend the whole summer studying?

Only a 1970.

That’s okay. Average preparation. I feel like I did a lot better on the ACT one week later…

The college kids who were running it kept cutting time 1-3 minutes short. That killed me on the 10 minute section.

Yay scores are finally in! I almost couldn’t take the wait! So happy with the result, though! Congrats to everyone else! :D

Composite: 2210
Math: 710
Critical Reading: 710
Writing: 790
