**Official June 2013 SAT II US History Thread**

Yes the answer was “Walden”. I also guessed Main Street since it was that or Age of Innocence… two books I never heard of.

It was Main Street

Does anyone remember the quote with the answer choices including John Brown and Elizabeth Cady Stanton?

Main Street was about small town life

I’m leaning towards Age of Innocence now, since its about New York Life

[The Age of Innocence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](The Age of Innocence - Wikipedia)

[SparkNotes: Main Street: Context](Main Street: Sinclair Lewis and Main Street Background | SparkNotes)

Main Street talked about small town life, but compared to age of innocence it’s a better choice. AOI talked about rich culture and stuff.

The second question asking for differences of native americans and settlers was property right?

Yes. ^ The other choices were definitely right.

@idkhur yup

damn, I put the difference in labor between native americans and the settlers :/

i omitted 11 lol any chance of a 700?

sharkass, US history has a really good curve, so if you ommitted 11 and got 0 wrong, you could probably still get like a 750

thanks gloogle

did anyone figure out the one about which was true of women in early 19th century? I said they couldn’t legally divorce but not sure if that’s right

^ I also put that since the property thing seemed like it was before the 19th century…

what was the answer to the question about the hudson river school? I put group of artists that painted landscapes… but Idk alot them sounded the same to me.
Also The programs for Jonson?
What did Johnson do to increase involvement in Vietnam… I put tonkin gulf resolution. is that right?
What was the answer to the steamboat question? I had no clue, but I put decreased prices, cause it seemed to make sense.
The question about dying for justice? I put John Brown
What about the rail road question with the map? I forget the choices now.

Hudson river school was the landscape one. Johnson was the Tonkin Gulf Resolution. I think the steamboat one was that it decreased prices. John Brown did die for justice (raid on Harper’s Ferry, then he was hanged). I’m pretty sure the railroad one was that the south didn’t need as many railroads as the north, or something like that.

For the cartoon with a bunch of little people, I put credit mobilier too. land ordinance was the rectangular structure right?

Also for the steamboat one, I think I put that the shipping costs rose

for the steeamboat one, was one choice about increasing midwest river traffic? or am i confusing that answer with a practice test>

How about why Wilson attended the Versailles conference?

The cartoon one was about New York- the caption said Tammany Hall and is was made by that one famous cartoonist
