This was my first ACT and it was fairly challenging. The science test was the most difficult to complete in time. Otherwise, i might have missed 4-5questions on each of the other sections.

Can someone explain to me what a superscore is?

Thanks

When the composite is calculated, does it include the Essay/Writing score or only the Writing MC score? I always do poorly on ACT essays (like an 8) and end up lowering my writing score by a point or 2. Ugh...oh well. At least my scores don't matter this time! Well, unless I pull out something higher...

English: 30-32
Math: 33-35
Reading 33-35
Science 28-30

Highest: 33
Lowest: 31

your superscore is the combined best score of every section, without regard to the date. so if you had a 30E, 32M, 34R, 28S (31 composite) on one day and then a 32E, 30M, 33R, 34S (32 composite) on another day, your superscore would be the 32E, 32M, 34R, and 34S (33 composite). hopefully this makes sense.

The writing doesn't go into your composite...It just goes into your combined english/writing subscore.

1MX, was it really necessary to retake it if you got a 34 the first time??

Worst:
Math-34
English-31
Reading-31
Science-26 (f**k this section)
Composite-31 (barely)

Best: (probably more likely)
Math-36
English-34
Reading-33
Science-31 (f**k this section)
Composite-34 (barely)

if i dont get at least 32 i will be thouroughly (sp?) surprised and disappointed

Thanks, the definition of superscore makes perfect sense. Is it used just to show off how smart someone is on the CC boards or do colleges actually look at one's superscore?

Yes, I would also like to know what Wwoody123 just asked. I had been under the impression that colleges only looked at the single best composite score, but maybe I'll get kinda lucky if they do actually look at this so-called "superscore".

I think I did much worse that I was hoping for. I really didn't want to take the test since IMO my SAT is good enough.

I'm guessing I got a 30-32 cumulative.

My essay was very good IMO, but I may have been too general and it may not have been long enough (I am a slow writer).

I'd guess 30 for that because I don't really know how the ACT essay is graded.

Worst Case Scenario:

English 27
Math 34
Reading 29
Science 28
C: 29.5 = 30
Essay: 9-10

Best Case:
English 31
Math 36
Reading 32
Science 31
C= 32.5 = 33
Essay: 11-12

Besides math, everything else is shaky :[
