********Official June 9th 2007 ACT Reading Thread********

no it said after 1973 it got LESS popular in the United States, and then it said that it got MORE popular in 1986 b/c of somethign- so i put 1975-1985

Yeah, it wanted the United States, it said after the energy crisis it became more popular in Europe.

u guys recall any more questions--- i NEED to know

We need somewhere where we can jsut CHAT about these..

i thought there were advancements in glass & energy right after the 1973 energy crisis...so i said xxx-1975 since it included '73

Aren't there different forms for the ACT, though? So, the question might be different on some of the tests. Does anybody remember the exact question?

1965-1975 is the correct answer

SMOOOTH you are wrong man it is 1975-1985 b/c that was the time when the US SUCKED and EUROPE ADVANCED in glass stuff

I put 1955-1965. That was one I wasn't sure on, but what was the exact question.

ok. im pretty sure the question asked something like "during what time period was the US not advancing in glass tech." and it said that after the energy crisis of 1973 that the US dropped off in glass tech, and that Europe took the lead. Then it siad that glass tech. re-emereged in the US in 1986, and i think that was done PURPOSELY so that the answer would be 1975-1985. anybody agree with me?

I agree with brownieboy 100%. Smoothwhite, it is definitely not 65-75 because that would have included the time after WWII when it was popular.

Ya, I thought it was 75-85 too.

What did the question ask?

when were advances in glasses not made or something?
it was 75-85 due to the 73 energy crisis.

I remember the question asked during what time period was glass most likely to be used? Either that or least likely to be used? I don't remember the question being that explicit.

it asked what time period glass was least likely to have been used in the united states. i put 75-85.

That was an unfair question though since the energy crisis eased by 1975. However, 1965-1975 seemed unfair since well it was used for 8out of the 10 years. However, it probably was 75-85.

Do they throw out questions? They might make the curve a bit nicer then.

i second brownieboy.
1975-1985.
then some dudes went to Paris and liked the glass building; the US glass renaissance started after.

1965-1975 includes when the enegy was okay and also when it was in crisis. 75'-85' is only after the crisis. What letter answer was 75-85?
