Congratulations Shtekman and Materia!!!

Thanks Chochu!!! ;) I will party definitely!!!

Hi! Congratulations to everyone!! YAY...we are going to be classmates! I am from Idaho and I am just sooo excited.

Yeah Idaho!

New Jersey up in here. Word up.

Class of 2010, assemble!

Hello, everybody, I am Pengyu Zhao. Just call me Alex. I am looking forward to becoming your friend.

I just received the E-mail saying that I am admitted. I have not yet received the mail and known nothing about my financial aid. cuz my F contribution is 4000, I wonder how much Kenyon will give me.

All in all, I got admitted, as an international 11th grade student in China!

Congratulations, Alex!

I can't wait to meet you next year.

Great! Thank you very much, White Materia!

Have you received the mail?

I just want to know they mail the whole materials via mail or Fedex?

I don't know about international admissions.

I got my acceptance letter through the mail on the 18th. I'm positive international letters are different. Hence the emails. I don't think American applicants get emails.

Thanx. ..So I still have to wait.

Hey Alex!!! I am an International student too! And I have yet to received anything yet! Nice to meet you though! I will be going to Hainan Island somewhere next year... Cause my Grandpa is from Hainan... and we are sort of going back.. I am from Malaysia by the way! And no worries for the financial aid... because Kenyon meets 100% need of students through a combination of grants loans and campus job...

Tnank you very much! Nice to meet you too! Please tell me if you are going Hainan. So you are sort of from China too:-)

Haha, well there are tonnes of Chinese overseas and they are sort of from China too =)

Can someone tell me what are the better halls to stay in??? And how's wellness like? Are people staying there kind of "segregated"? Do the people there sleep really early and you know, like exercise every morning or something? =) Thank you!!!

An aquaintance from school told me not to do wellness. He was really trying to persuade me, for my own benefit. I don't know.

Can some of the current students give me their input on whether I should give same-sex wing/floor or coeducational wing/floor the most preference? I would really appreciate it.

oh the rumors!!! I just despise them..There is nothing weird about Wellness. I mean nothing!! It is quite similar to any other halls. Its just doesnt have loud and boisterous stuff going on in it ALL the time & thats it. The Wellness has quite hours enforced in many situations as many other halls, so you will have certain quiet time to just sit down and actually do some of your work! The wellness is not ''segregated''. I myself live in wellness and I have tons of frends from all other halls..To assure you even further, I can even tell you that there are many people in Wellness who party really hard...So no, we dont go to bed early( I go to bed at 4.30 am!! and there plenty others I knoe who go to bed even later...)....And no! The hall isnt filled with people doing yogas and aerobics early in the mornings...The wellness rumors should definitely be ll!! And besides, if you choose wellness, you get rooms fully air conditioned with nice carpeting..Thats the one reason I chose Wellness for.And oh yea, we dont eat figs, nuts or fruits ONLY as well..(someone was asking me this other day)

thank you:)

Which other dorms got nice, clean facilities??

Can you elaborate on the "quiet hours", please?

I trust you, blip, but for some reason my friend was highly uncomfortable with the thought of me in Wellness at Kenyon - which is strange.

I asked this before but can a current student answer my question about single-sex versus coeducational?

well, as u can see, wellness ppl can get mad as well!
jokes aside, there is very little, if any, difference between wellness and the other halls. it is a really good way to ensure that u get air conditioned and carpeted rooms. however, there's a catch here. first, i was mad at not getting one of the ac/ carpeted rooms (i live in norton) but now i am more than happy here. the rooms are bigger at lewis and norton and the ac doesnt really make sense once winter kicks on (which takes very little time; less than a month). even more importantly, i think it is a lot easier to meet a lot of freshman because norton, lewis and gund (the smelly dorm) make up the freshman quad. so u can either go for ac/carpets or bigger rooms/quad.
your choice.

doesnt matter! single sex/coed. wing/floor. doesnt matter!
you might never go to a girl's place (if u r a guy or vice versa) who lives next door or might live at a girl's place (Same condition) who lives in the other end of campus. I dont think it matters that much.
of course, if u want to help ur chances of meeting someone, coed should be the better option (if you are straight, else same sex housing will give you more options).
good luck

Hmm... I have my own twisted reasoning for deciding between same-sex and coeducational. But...

"you might never go to a girl's place"

---- BLASPHEMY!

:P
