only 2 person heard back so far, ignoring the admission results??? that’s should be wired if so…

He is lying.

I got the packet in the mail today. The following link leads to an album I created with pictures of the packet. Please note: The stamp on the envelope says May 20, 2009. The date on the letter says May 19, 2009. I feel that this is all the proof you need, and I can’t believe that this forum has driven me so crazy that I uploaded pictures of my acceptance packet just to prove myself. I feel pathetic but also happy because I’m going to Penn! The instructions inside say “Please Note: These instructions are for students admitted from the Waiting List on May 19, 2009.” As someone said in a previous post, I think that implies there will be more dates. There was also a brochure called “College Houses 2009>10” in the packet that is not pictured in the album.

@Stanford09, I sent in two letters of continued interest: one in mid-April and one two weeks ago on Mother’s Day. I also had my counselor send my third quarter grades.

Good luck to everyone!

^ I don’t know what happened with that link, but it still leads to the album I made.

^ Nice! Thanks for uploading those! It’s been a long, long time since I received my thick envelope from Penn. Congrats, and welcome to the Penn family!

Congrats to kriegs4790! But don’t you think you’re bending over backwards to please a bunch of users on an anonymous online forum?

Still know acceptances today? Perhaps theyre getting ready for a big wave next week?

They’re only taking 50-70 spots, so there’s really not going to be a “big wave.” And also, it’s not like everyone accepted off the waitlist uses this site. I’m on the waitlist as well, but I kind of lost hope when I saw how few of people Penn is accepting off the waitlist, especially being a Wharton applicant which probably had a super high yield.

any new acceptance from waiting list ?

^it’s Sunday.

they’re closed on monday too… for memorial day

^^ EW – and kriegs nice proof and congrats!-- might be a little excessive for an internet forum but hey, i guess if it matters that much to you what a bunch of rands think then great…

econ. i want us to get in hahaha how hot would that be :)

hahha nice. Wed have too much in common if that were the case lol (Premed penn waitlist accepted students who almost went to tufts and were on the jhu list too)(from NY)

you guys headed to tufts too? i got into jhu, but decided tufts was better for me.

yup, Tufts for me… if i dont get off the wl

ahha yeah econ. tht wud be too crazy – boles you too? why tufts over jhu? u in the fb group?

i just felt more comfortable at tufts, it just kind of clicked more than jhu. im not in the facebook group. im avoiding joining it because it really wont feel final until ive heard from all my waitlist schools…haha.

Hi Folks,

I spoke to the Florida Rep on Friday. She told me that Penn had made 80 offers last week, and that emails and letters were sent to them all. She also said that by June 1, everyone else would be getting a letter: 200 people were going to get letters that say they are invited to stay on the extended waitlist for a few more weeks; all the rest were going to get letters that say they were no longer being kept on the waitlist. (I don’t know exactly what they letters are going to say, “you have been denied” or something like that.)

The 200 on the extended waitlist would be kept for ‘special situations.’ These she described as ‘filling spots in academic departments or special groups’ that have gaps.

That’s all I know. My sense was that fewer than a dozen or so would get pulled from the special extended waitlist. But I don’t have any more info.

I know everyone is disappointed, as is my son. But everyone will be FINE at whatever college you attend. You are all very special people, with incredible talents to offer. I have looked at the Stats, and you are great kids.

Make the best of each opportunity you are offered. Don’t look back. Move forward, and good luck! Be well, be happy, and everything else will fall into place.

Hi mimzy,

thanks, and

so those got offers should have received emails last week no matter if they have received official letters or not, in case some live in remote states, say, Alaska.

thanks

That’s kinda odd. A friend of mine is on the wharton waitlist and she said that when she called, they said that the wharton waitlist would close on June 15th
