Thanks Tyler. Woo-hoo, DS#2 made it in Missouri!

That's great, runmanstl, but are you just finding out now? The semifinalists for class of 2009 were notified in September, so if your son made it, you should know by know. Unless you are confusing this list for students graduating in 2010. This list is for people who were notified last September and graduate in 2009. But odds are, if your son made it based on this list, he will for the 2010 list.

freakchild12,
Aha, my mistake. I thought this list was for current juniors. Well, his score is high enough that he should make it for 2010.

Thanks for pointing this out before I opened my mouth to anyone and got shot down!

You're welcome =)

NY is 216?!

All juniors should move to Wyoming.

I know, seriously. Did you know there are less than half a million people in the entire state? Not that I'm bashing it or anything, just a fun fact.

Please remember this is last years list. The semifinalist cutoffs for current juniors will not be available until this fall.

Oh, my gosh, you scared me! Son got a 207 in Louisiana. It will make me sick if he misses it by just one point. Oh, well, there's always commended.

does anyone know the score cutoff for hispanic scholar??

thanks!! :D

Cutoffs for Hispanic Scholar and National Achievement Scholar have never, to my knowledge, been publicized. Every now and then someone will post here and say they received one of the two scholar awards with xxx score.

I believe a friend of mine contacted Hispanic Scholar, and with a 193 she was guaranteed to make it. To the best of my memory I think the cutoff for 2010 is 184, but I can't be sure.

Every September someone here on CC (often fireflyscout) leads the effort to assemble cutoff scores. This year's final tally is here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1061054682-post583.html

The list at the link provided is not, I think, "official" in that, so far as I know, it is not released by the NMSC. IIRC, it had an error for at least one state cutoff last year. This year the CC list and this disagree on the NV cut-off score. I cannot be sure which is correct.

The link in the thread-opening post is definitely not from an official source. It may be copied in whole or in part from CC.

I did contact National Merit last fall and confirmed that the Nevada cutoff was 207 for class of 09.

There, you see. The source is not guaranteed accurate.

Thanks, firefly.

Have heard that in Florida for 2010 class that College Board took all the way down to 96th percentile and it is going into a lottery to determine who is between 96th and 99th percentiles…Has anyone else heard this?

Boo, I would have made it for Wyoming lol but not here in NC.

^ ^ I doubt the story about Florida. What is the source for this statement?
