My sports knowledge is definitely not iffy.

The Texans are not laughable at all, they are exactly what I said “the team on the rise… huge potential…as long as they don’t turn the ball over”. By no means am I saying they will win it all, just saying they are competitive. Anyone with a high football IQ knows that they are a great team, arguably the best WR in the NFL (Andre Johnson), Matt Schaub (pretty good QB with a high QB rating) was injured most of last year, amazing RB (Steve Slaton), great under-rated pro bowl TE (Daniels), one of the best DE (Williams), unbelievable LB core (Ryans and Cushing: the rookie), and a good secondary with Reeves. They have been an 8-8 team 2 years in a row, so yes they have huge potential. Last year they were 7th in total TDs, 7th in rushing TDs, and 7th in passing TDs.

I was comparing the UT football program of the last 2 years to the Mavericks of the last decade (specifically in the 2006 Finals). My comparison means that I feel like they can be competitive and get to a championship game but not win it. I was comparing how a Dirk is like McCoy and D-Wade is like a Tebow or Bradford; how the Mavs program is like a UT program, well respected but not comparable to the Lakers or Celtics (like a recent USC or Florida).

Just because Archie Griffin is the only player to win the Heisman back-to-back times doesn’t mean that they don’t like giving out second Heismans. Heisman voters give the trophy to the best player, they could care less if they’ve won it before. They gave it to the best player statistically, in Bradford last season, and will give it to the best player statistically this year.
