Well, it's that time and I need to get a laptop. What is better on the Emory campus, Mac or PC (Dell, etc)? Are the computer labs/libraries stocked more of one than another?

I am in the same situation, although, its not about whats better at emory since it is stocked equally from what i've seen. So basically, its about what you like better in general.

I'm also in that situation. I really don't know what to get because I hear equally positive/negative feedback for both. It really isn't even about the price at this point. I'm just really indecisive.

Here's my two cents:

And I will use the words 'windows' and 'pcs' interchangeably.

I've heard a lot of good things about new Macs. With new Macs, you can load Windows, which is a great feature - the ability to have both Windows and Mac operating systems on one computer. Macs malfunction less than Windows. They don't get viruses as much as Windows. Traditionally, it is harder to get new parts for Macs than PCs(extra hard drives, etc). Furthermore, if you are a gamer, Macs don't have as many popular games as Windows. Macs have some great multimedia features that PCs lack.

It comes down to personal preference. Getting a good deal is more important than the actual computer, IMO.

Here is a good website for computers and laptops where one can often find cheaper prices than Best Buy,
