Official march act 2013

Yeah I put 180 and everyone i know put 180

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

how generous will the math curve be? I felt like it was easier than usual.

I put invented up

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

Can some one explain how is it 180? the shape is totally irregular with corner angle 50 and 70? I think?

Because the quadrilateral inside wasn’t irregular. Im not sure anymore lol. What about the side of a rhombus one I put 8.

yep that’s right. whats is the c-2=/x-1/ ???

Also answered “invented up”

I put c>=2 for that one. Pretty sure that’s right because an absolute value has to be >= 0.

How about the one on the engish with “festivities” and “ceremony”? I had ceremony as the one that wouldn’t work, but at the last minute I went back and changed it. I’m pretty sure the correct answer was ceremony.

And I’m also fairly sure that the last problem was 180. In the inscribed quadrilateral, opposite angles are always the same, so 2m+2n=360, m+n=180.

Miw140, I was confused by that question at first, but it has to be ceremony. Ceremony means more or less formal event, which definitely didn’t apply to the party in the passage.

How did everyone do on the reading portion?

I put 180 for the last one on the math too.

Also, did anyone notice that the science section actually required some very specific outside knowledge? I’ve never seen that on practice tests. You had to know what endothermic and exothermic reactions are, which I completely forgot since my chem class. And you had to know the composition of the atmosphere, which I just guessed on.

I don’t think the science knowledge you needed was that difficult. Ex prefix “out of” En prefix “inward”. The answer was exothermic, the heat was leaving the system and warmed the surroundings (the solution). As for the composition of atmosphere, yeah that was kinda an unfair question for some people. I remember when I learned that our atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and not oxygen, I was shocked, but luckily I remembered. Most of the other questions could have been answered without prior knowledge.

I found a friend make a picture of the problem, I put C as the answer and had 15 minutes left over during the test to ponder over the question. With the information we can find that the top 2 angles of the trapezoid is 110 and 130 but I didn’t know what to do after. As I did think the quadrilateral inside was irregular therefore it cannot be 180 degrees. Thanks

Miw140, looks like I got both of those right. But I still don’t think that questions like those are fair.

MI 69-E here.

Did you guys get a lot of the same answer in the last section of the Science portion? I literally think that I put down the same answer 4 or 5 times in a row…

continuing, I think that the English, Math (with the exception of 2 or so), and Reading (knock on wood) was pretty easy. I’m not sure on the Science; Science and Reading are usually my lower scores so we’ll see.

Come to think of it, I am more than positive that a good amount of my classmates would not have known the difference between exo- and endo- thermic or that the atmosphere is composed of more nitrogen than oxygen. I’m honestly not entirely sure how I knew the latter part myself.

Where did you guys take the MARCH ACT? It isnt offered in my state?!?!?!
