OFFICIAL MARCH SAT 1 discussion

Yay finally done (well done a few hours ago but had to go a few places… one being barnes and nobles to see for any ACT books… :frowning: ).

zhaos, what are u talking about??
wasnt the quantity doubling every 18 months, for 12 eyars
so it doubles 8 times, but 8 wasnt the answer for the grid in??

how is charlie meticulous
i put unruly, cuz it seemed like he didnt want to listen to narrator’s suggestions

blueducky, that’s exactly what I thought, I got 256 but that’s 2^8 so should the answer be 8, since it doubles 8 times?

charlie is meticulous because he wants his garden to be clean and no weeds, etc to hinder plant growth

so the answer to the grid in is 8 or 256??
are u sure about the meticulous one?
what about “wrestling” was that for comedic effect

blue, was answering question about the parents wrestling

the thing was n(4)^(t/3) / n . n is initial amount (arbitrary), and t is time in years. since it doubles every 18 months, it must quadruple every 3 years, so t in years divided by 3.

so putting in 12 gives 4^4 = 256

invite plasmabolt13 to aim… also was the japanese girl fear of punishment or realization of error

error in judgement.

for the grid in i got 256 but now i cant remember if it asked how many times greater the chips will be or how many times it doubled.
for parents wrestling i put it shows the intensity of the situation.
meticulous because the passage described how charlie was so detailed and he couldnt let even a small stone be there.

cam you invite to aim dma1748

zhaos, how confident are u in ur answers?

actually i would love to know the parents wrestling question.

guys to get into the chat go to AIM.. chat.. buddy chat.. and type in marchsat1

the last grid in, for the chips, was not 256, it asked how many times they were doubled. they were doubled 8 times.

the college credit question was also 1200 because you have to count each credit being payed for so 13-18 13 14 15 16 17 18 = 6 credits.

OK!

hmm that was defenitly a tough one as several answers were true but were not necesarily the right answer for the context. not to sound arrogant but im pretty confident “intensity” was the right answer though, i got 80 on psat and 36 on act for the reading.

i’m just asking you cuz if you think u can pull off a >2300 i’d trust your opinion u know?

anybody out there who got 3 answers for grid ins = 8??
seriously i really thought the last 8 asked for how many times the sample would double if it doubles every 18 months and the time period was 12 years. what other info did they give you??

well the wrestling said “to provide an extended passage comic relief” or something to that effect, and i didn’t feel like it was extended, so i said intensity, because in the passage it had just been talking about how intense they looked right before it said about wrestling.

Also, i’m really sure that it was “playful skepticism” on the one that everyone was talking about earlier. Callous thoughtlessness is way harsh for somebody dropping a pebble in a cup and commenting to their friend that it doesn’t look like it’s going to dissolve. what do you guys think?

for the cr poli sci one, the question that compared the two passages was it like:
what does passage one use that two doesn’t
or what does passage two use that one doesn’t
and what was teh answer?

i think one of them used a statistic or somthing?..also SlimJim0512…add me to the chat room

what was the answer with A,B, and C on a line, which one is impossible? I put E something like AB^2 + AC^2 = BC^2
