After finding out my score, I'm either going to be ecstatic or depressed for the rest of the day tomorrow..

ozhang6691 - i called CB to ask about the march 15 scores. Customer service stated that they were trying their best to have the scores released tomorrow but " it could take one to two weeks". Sounds like a bit of a range to me. They did say that they would be available on the site when they are ready. My daughter had previously heard that the march 15 scores could only be received by mail. But that does not sound like it is correct.

PS How can you get a 3600? That would be three 1200s. I think you mean 600 - 2400? :)

Guys, don't let one test determine everything for you. This isn't a life-or-death situation.

Plus, you're giving academically-driven people a bad name ("dorkwad", "nerd", "geek") by hyperventilating and not being able to sleep and distorting reality so much that the SAT comprises 87% of your life's purpose.

End rant.

But seriously; although the SATs are not everything, they are something, and I wish everyone luck tomorrow.

i think i got it okay. i took the test last saturday (makeup) and i get it back tomorrow. im anxious but not really sure how i did. although it sucked to have the first one cancelled b/c of snow i dont have to wait 3 long weeks

Silvykins - you obviously haven't spent enough time on these forums. :)

7 HOURS.

(hopefully)

@ Silvykins: My main concern isn't whether my scores are good enough for this school or that school. Hell, one of my top choices doesn't even require the SAT's. I just want to get a high enough set of numbers so that I don't have to drag my butt to a testing center at 8 AM on a Saturday and sit through a FIVE hour test. Please, NOOOOOOO. That's the real reason I'm anxious.

Perhaps it is all for the better. I read a post a while back by a student accepted to Yale. He admitted that had he spent time on CC before applying to college, he would've been so intimidated that he would not have even considered Yale.

CC is a great way to compare yourself with others, diminish your self-worth, and make college seem larger than life. What use is it to compare yourself endlessly when people simply cannot be quantified? All we are is a bunch of highly-evolved chimps; why get so competitive with each other? Even if we could decide who was better than whom, does being a smarter monkey make your life better than that of an less intelligent monkey? Does it make your life more memorable? All things are fleeting; your existence will be a fading thought 100 years from now and in utter oblivion 1000 years from now. What are you accomplishing in the grand scheme of life, cutthroat monkeys?

End philosophical rant.

I love you monkeys.

curiosisity: I'm going through the same exact anxiety. I really don't feel like taking this ridiculous test again.

silvykins -
Hmm. Very interesting and useful points. Never thought college apps would turn into an existential crisis :( Kidding aside, you are right, it is good to know when to kick back and not worry so much. CC may be responsible for too much unecessary pressure. But on the other hand, it has really helped to motivate me rather than diminish my self-worth. A little competition can be highly stimulating and very rewarding.. at least that's how I feel.

Cheers!

Hehe, I just thought you guys needed to hear things in context.

Thebeef, that's good to hear. Just don't let things get thrown out of proportion, which seems rather common on CC. There's a whole 'nother world out there. :)

what time do the scores usually come out?

Silykins, agreed that there's a whole 'nother world. CC has opened my eyes to the fact that I can always do better. 1800 isn't "excellent" or "above average for an Ivy or any school" as my school likes to propagate.

Seriously though, I'm happy with my Oct scores, but if I had 60 points on math, it's a difference of 8000/yr for my safety, and I don't want to have to retake it.

Amen to that thebeef lol!

tnb -

Officially, 8 am EST. Unofficially, about 5 am EST.

wait so if 5 am est(or 8 really) then would it be like 2 am(or 5am) for the pacific coast?

the question is, is it worth it to stay up until 2AM for us West Coast kids and find out they only post it at 5AM

^ I believe so Rosie, although I'm not positive about the time zones lol.

Well I'm out. See you all at 5 or so!

^^ Thanks for clarifying!
I'm just going to wake up at my normal time of about 6 and check it out then. I just really didn't want to have to wait until after school to find out since I am at school before 8...

Wow I can't wait! sure is making me anxious

i really need to know.
the wait is killing me...

i feel like it was considerably easier than january, but i didn't study as much. :P
