Official Math Level 2 Thread

This is how i got to my answer:
The question said prob. of greater than or EQUAL to 1.
Between 7/8 and 4/3
Convert it to common den. and you get 21/24 and 32/24
1 = 24/24
So include the numbers from 1 higher: 24, 25, 26 ,27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32
Thats 9 numbers (not 8)
9/12 = 3/4

well i personally skipped it, but people agreed on that it was 8/11.

go to page 15 for the answer compilations.

GPA, answer compilations does not mean ANSWER.
asc3nd seems to be perfectly logical if that was what the question asked for.
stop asking us to return to page 15, some of the answers there are wrong anyways.

On pg. 15 in the list:
"The one with numbers between 7/8 and 4/3: 8/11."
Its stated wrong, its between and including 1.

Anyways im not going to argue over this question and hold up the thread.
If you think 8/11 is the correct answer please show me how.

i SAID we discussed these questions previously and therefore it was implied that the answer compilation were what people agreed on.

And I posted to go page 15 only once.

and which of those answers are wrong then?

if you are talking to me asc3nd, I posted that it was one of the questions I skipped so I don't know the answer.

Naw the question isnt directly for you. Any1 that knows how to solve please show.

GPA, i went and looked back (through the whole thread) and I cant find a post where it really explains the problem. 3-4 ppl just agreed that it was 8/11 w/o explaining it.

Its a tricky problem, and at first i was going to put 8/11 but then i realized the key word greater than or equal to.

excuse me, im focusing on that 8/11 or 3/4 question. stop being so irritant. i know we're all stressed, but don't be so illogical.

For the last one was the answer C
I was going to omit it, but for the heck of it I filled in C.
I know it had something to do with 2sinxcosx, but I ran out of time on the last question so I decided to take my 1/5 chance.

How am I being illogical? Wow w.e. there is no point on arguing with someone I don't even know

Hmm does anyone remember if 11.81 was one of the answer choices or just 12?

I believe it was 11.81
If you graph it and zoom its 11.81

I put C too, but I think many people agreed on that it was B which was 2x^2 (radical (x^4 - 1)). C was x^2 (radical (x^4 - 1))

Sorry, but what was the question with the 11.81 or 12?

Same question as llewis

(something +/- sinx)(something +/- cos5x)

I remember putting 12 because cos5x has a max/min value of 1/-1 and sinx has a max/min value of 1/-1.

Was it plus or minus or you're not sure if it's plus or minus?

I put the value of x=0 and chose the answer, is that right....?
Cuz cos0=1 and sin 0=0, so if ur subtracting sin and adding cos, you'll get the greatest value using that...

im not sure if it was plus or minus.

if you solve the question on graphing calculator you can get a answer with decimal, but if you just solve it plugging in the values, you get 12.

Kumara, do you remember what you put down as the answer?

Hah, i have it in my calc.
It was:
[2-sin(x)][3+cos(5x)]
Find the maximum point.
If you use the maximum function on your calc. it gives you 11.814062
