Official May 6 SAT Curve Predictions

This thread is to be used for the Official May 6 SAT Curve Predictions:

Can someone desccribe what the curve is and its significance. Its the way they determine your scaled mar is right?? ( i have no idea )

But CollegeBoard says they dont scale the marks according to other testakers, is this true????

Im really confused...enlighten me plz

Personally, I think Math might get scaled, maybe not?

I'm hoping 4-5 wrong will be 750 :) in Writing and CR, that'd make my day....~_~ (does that seem reasonable?)

I'm pretty sure they DO scale, especially if a question gets thrown out.

the math curve has never been too kind :(

Someone told me the May curve is the most lenient of all the test dates because more people take the May test than any other testing date, so the bell curve will be more favorable to those outside of the middle range.

I'm praying this is true.

^ You better be right.

Just to give people some ideas, in April, my friend got

M 790 1 wrong

CR 700 8 wrong

W 760 3 wrong 12 essay

How strongly does the essay change the writing score?

essay is 30%, MC is 70%

^ That's what I thought... I was hoping I was wrong though.

Scary!

Could someone help me with scoring?

Worse Case:

I just took the SAT's and I'm guessing I missed 5 or 6 on the Math, omitted like 5, I think...or maybe 4. I made careless mistakes...

On the Verbal, I think I got two wrong and omitted 3 or 4.

Writing, let's assume I missed three, and omitted 2.

What would my math and verbal composites be? I'm anxious and cannot wait till May 29, 2006.

prays for a curve

I made a 2250 on the last one, with 4 errors on the math, and 3 on the Verbal, and I think I omitted some all together?...

I hope I get 600+ for each section. I feel good about this test.

Is there a way to see your scores before the date? like is there a link that Collegeboard is unaware of?

haha I doubt it, I e-mailed them yesterday telling them that they should have the scores posted earlier.

I wish they had us do that thing like we do in some classes where we grade our own papers

HAHA then perhaps everyone would cheat...that's one of the reasons why we don't have people grading each others SAT's, "Do I hear $1,500 for a perfect score!"

I'd be yelling, "ME ME ME!"

^lol no

Wow if we get a curve like the April one or even 10-20 points more lenient i'd be really happy
like 2 wrong = 800 would make me send a thankyou letter to CB hahah

Mwahaha...

Don't get your hopes up.

For the Critical reading, it's possible that getting 2 wrong will give you a 800.

sigh They should have instant posting of the scores online.

Seriously!

I hear for the GREs you get your scores instantly after you take them! I wish the SATs were like that.
