I received a physical letter of acceptance a while after being notified online but I think that had more to do with my major entrance scholarship than my acceptance alone. I say this because I received a leather(ish) bookmark thing that says “McGill Scholar” on it with my letter.
I agree. I am very disappointed in the administration and am not sure I want to attend a school that seems so unorganized.
Especially when other schools are going above and beyond by being super responsive and considerate
Yea, mcgill isn’t nearly as involved as the other colleges I applied to. But, U of T has taken almost 1 months to process a document (still hasn’t) which made me get fed up with them and chose mcgill.
@zach1198 you have to keep calling UofT to process a document correctly. I got my response (admitted) back in late February. Still waiting on McGill though, which I am getting more frustrated with by the hour.
@ActSwimStudy I called u of t at least 5 times concerning this and always got " you need to wait a couple weeks for it to process." As an answer. It took every other school a few days at the most to process it… Anyways, mcgill said that they will try to get the majority of the remainingn decisions out this week and all done by 4/15. So you should hear back soon
Finally heard back today after 2 months of “Reviewed-Decision Pending”!
Admitted Pending Final Results to the Faculty of Arts
American Student
GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1920 (M: 620, W: 660, CR: 640)
Extracurriculars: swimming, water polo, student government, peer tutoring, lifeguarding, film society (club)
I also have legacy that may have contributed.
Very excited and honored to have been accepted! Congratulations to everyone!
Finally heard back from one of the three programs I applied to BSC in Physical, Earth, Math and Computer Science. I’ve been waitlisted. Any advice as to how I can turn this into ‘admitted’? I’m still waiting on the interfaculty and BSc In Agricultural science at Macdonald.
could someone tell me if it is hard to get a need based scolarship as an international student?( my family’s total anual income is about 100k/year, but may I declare only one parent’s income?)
almost 40k/year seems too much for most of us
also, do we have to pay the tuition in only one parcel?
Need based aid for internationals is very, very limited. It is primarily given to students in later years who encounter financial issues. You must declare all family income.
@ActSwimStudy I was also wait listed last night from that faculty - still waiting to hear back from the faculty of engineering
Any transfer students on here hear back yet?
Hey guys I need some advice…
3.6 GPA 35 act 800math 2 780physics chem 760
Not gonna post the rest b/c its irrelevant but I was waitlisted for the faculty of phys math comp sci and it says that most wait listed applicants are told there decision by may 15…however for all my universities in the states may 1 is the deadline…anyone have any input or know anything about McGill’s wait listing policies?
Studying at McGill has always been a dream of mine however I don’t want to lose opportunities at good us universities waiting when I might never get off the wait list
Hi Everyone, I was rejected for engineering. Not gonna post stats cuz McGill told me that my Physics marks were not upto their academic standards. Although the fact is that I had 70/70 in my mid-terms and 99/100 on my pre-boards. International applicant from India here. I still dont get what are McGill’s Academic standards are for physics.
Accepted to science!
Accepted to Ag and Environmental Sci at Macdonald! Waitlisted for Interfaculty arts and Sci! (I’ll be attending with hopes of getting off the waitlist for either physical science or interfaculty before fall rolls around!)

really surprised I got accepted honestly! I did very poorly my freshman year so my gpa is low because of that, I had a 2.6 alone my freshman and my junior year alone was a 4.4 so I guess McGill saw my progress counted for something!
