i did not receive an email, i just had to keep checking minerva. status changed from “Decision: Further Review Required” to “Decision: Admitted Pending Final Results.” Good luck to all!!!

@Emily33 Congratulations! Mine still says Reviewed - Decision Pending and I’m absolutely dying of anxiety

@sungjong i definitely understand the anxiety!! i never had that notice on minerva. i think that may mean that they reviewed your app and just want to see more applications before they make a final decision about you. is your app complete?

@Emily33 Yeah, I sent in everything already. I took it as that they deferred it for further review, but I’m not sure exactly. When I submitted my initial application, I didn’t get a confirmation email from McGill and so didn’t have access to Minerva until early/mid January (when I called and asked them for it), so maybe that’s why.

@sungjong Did you apply for engineering? I did and mine also says “Reviewed- Pending Decision” even though my friends who applied at the same time as me but for different majors have already gotten their decisions.

I’m in the same boat. McGill is my top choice-- I applied in September for Faculty of Arts and mine says Reviewed- Decision Pending. I am going completely insane!!

@limitdoesntexist I applied for Math, but I guess it’s somewhat close to engineering. I don’t think any of my classmates applied to Canadian schools, so I can’t really compare my applications to them. Do you have any friends who are applying to engineering too?

@sungjong I have a friend who applied for 2 majors- she has been accepted for her major in the Faculty of Science but is still pending for the engineering one. So I think the release of decision is based on your location/time of application and which faculty you applied for.

@limitdoesntexist Ah, I see. I’m in California, so that probably makes sense (especially since I didn’t have access to Minerva until just a month ago). Well, good luck on your application! I hope you get in

@sungjong Thanks and same to you!

Engineering has already released some offers to overseas applicants (ie not in Canada).

Math can be studied in both the faculty of science or the faculty of arts. Admissions requirements for science tend to be higher than arts. Check if you meet the minimums for your faculty. Borderline applicants may wait to the end of the admissions cycle for a decision. Most USA applicants will have news by the end of March.

General Comments: This was one of my safety schools so I probably won’t be attending but I might transfer if Trump becomes President

Hello, I have been accepted to McGill Engineering. But the problem is that they have stated that the admission letter is contingent on my final exam performance.
Out of the 5 subjects I currently have, I secured A1 grade in four of them and A2 in one of them. (In My Mid Term)
My finals are going on and I am confident I will be able to replicate my performances in four of those subjects (the three with A1 and one with A2). NOW REMAINS ONE SUBJECT IN WHICH I SECURED A1 IN MY MID TERM.

I just had that subject’s final exam today and I may get an A2 or a B1 in the worst case scenario. Now since McGill admissions are purely based on grades, How much should I worry?

@College98761 This is the results thread, and why ask such a question? It is out of your hands now, just relax. Worrying is not gonna get you in or get you out.

I am sorry for posting in this thread but I couldn’t find any McGill thread. I am very sorry again.
I just wanted to know how much my chances were going to be hurt. Your thoughts, somebody else’s thoughts etc. And yeah you are right, Worrying’s not gonna help.

@pisquarius, congrats on your acceptance. Did you get an email or do we have to check the portal periodically? We’re in CA which I’m thinking you are as well.

Hey guys, I’m from California and I applied for life sciences. I’m still on decision pending and have been for two months now so I’m getting really worried. Is there anyone from california who has heard back from mcgill yet?
