***Official McGill University Class of 2020 Results Thread***

I don’t know if there is a final day that all decisions will be out by (hopefully by April 1st, like in the US) but i think a lot of people are still on the “Reviewed-Decision Pending page”. I still have one school on that page, but I got accepted to the other one back in December. I just want to hear back from the second school, this is so nerve wracking!

Well I’m not from Cali, i’m an international student. But I haven’t had any updates on my application since I submitted it last december. It’s still showing “further review required.” I’m worried that they might have forgotten my application… dont know when can i hear back.

Applied to CAS from the US. Mcgill is my top choice right now, if anyone could chance me that would be great. My application says “further review required” so I don’t know when I will hear back.

I was waitlisted… A bit disappointing but considering my stats I’m very glad I wasn’t outright rejected!
Anyway, I know a lot of the stuff below doesn’t matter much for the school but I’ll fill some in anyway.

Reflection
Strengths: i’m not really sure. i think i’m a good student but compared to most people online I’m probably below average, haha
Weaknesses: ACT just met cutoffs (except for my math score, which was one point below), my senior year 1st quarter grades (i struggle a lot in my math class)
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: the C+ i got in math this year and my math ACT score as well
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: accepted into Concordia with honours (very excited, and money-wise this is the best choice. my parents are choosing my school solely based on tuition, unfortunately), UConn, Lesley U, Rutgers University - New Brunswick
i was rejected from Northeastern and Boston University (just this morning, actually. i was really upset at work today)
both McGill and Fordham waitlisted me (i applied to Fordham on a whim and i guess i didn’t show much interest in the school. idk)
i’m still waiting to hear from Barnard, NYU, and American University

General Comments:
if i’m taken off of the waitlist and accepted there is a 90% chance i’ll go. however, it seems unlikely. you never know, though! i’m contemplating visiting when i go to see Concordia… do people typically visit schools they were waitlisted at?

@ missandei. Did you get an email?

Guys the minerva website is down, does that mean decisions will be released soon?

Its back up, no decision

@pnguon congratz !!! btw I would like to know if youve heard from the Scholarships or nah?

I got into Desautels yesterday, and the school of arts back in december! I am probably going unless some other big decisions come through!

@bee112 i havent heard back from the financial aid department. hoping to hear soon!

Pretty bummed right now, is there any chance for me?

@Freeholder
Pretty much same stats as you but act is 35 and my senior year load is greater with 4 APs. Also 3 APs taken during previous years. My mid year report was great also with All As except an A- in a blowoff class. Hoping I don’t get waitlisted :-\

@freeholder You got waitlisted with those stats? That’s odd, do you think it could have been because they thought you wouldn’t attend McGill if you were admitted since you are overqualified and would go to a better school in the US? Similar situation happened to my friend with the same stats as you who got waitlisted at a safety school.

@searchngmom Thank you! Well, my parents were talking to me about college decisions and then on that night, I received an email saying McGill reached upon a decision for my application. I applied back in November and received a reply about a week ago. (However I’m not in California, I’m in the Bahamas!)

@ccgirl98 I applied back in November and received a decision only about a week ago! So I think you’ll be fine.

@pisquarius, Ah. I guessed you were in CA because you applied to lots of UCs. We are still waiting for a decision, but my daughter applied much later than you did.

Waitlisted

SAT: 2170
math: 750
writing 730
reading: 680

SAT II:
French: 800
math level 2: 750

GPA: 4.06

From NJ but I was born and raised in France

Can anyone tell me my chances of getting in from the waitlist in B commerce, B Arts and Science and BSc Phys,Earth,Math&Comp Sci?

I was really hoping to get into this school, is there anything helpful to do to better your chances once you are waitlisted?

I feel bad. I got accepted to B Comm and B Arts with a 1950 SAT score (one sitting). I’m from Hong Kong so they probably only looked at my transcripts and predicted grades for the local exam (they’re not good either).

dang seeing all these ppl with similar stats getting waitlisted has me worried…

@claraaa not really, all u can do is wait.
