Mommaof5…when did your son apply? Mine is still waiting which is somewhat surprising and he tells me the application page says 12 weeks (it’s been about 4).

momofthreeboys - I think he applied around Sept. 5 and he found out around Oct 17. His acceptance showed up first on his beaspartan account and I think he got the letter the next day. Now we are waiting for an invitation to Honors College, it said it would be 4 weeks after acceptance, but he hasn’t received anything yet.

Thanks! Mine did not hit submit until mid-October. My oldest was deferred with first tri grades requested and he was not happy and ended up attending (and graduating) an out of state public. He had applied for the first year of RCAH. S2 was so shocked by what happened to older bro he didn’t even try and is also attending another state school in another state. I’m FB friends with some of his friends who are finishing up their junior year at State and are very happy and doing well in their respective colleges within State. If S3 is deferred in a similar manner I will be dumb founded but he will be OK and go elsewhere albeit a thousand miles away I fear.

Accepted Nov. 2
ACT: 27
GPA: 3.8~UW
AP: 9(6 Current), Stat (4), Gov (5), Eng (4)
Accepted to College of Engineering Residential Program around the 14th
Major: Comp. Sci.
AOP: June 10-1 (The first one if the date is wrong)

Applied Oct. 1st (I received a letter saying that if I had all my materials sent in by October 3rd they would inform me of my admission status by November 17th)

SAT: 1830
GPA UW: 4.0
AP: My school doesn’t offer AP
ECs: Student Council Treasurer three years running, community service, job for 3 years
I applied to Lyman Briggs; my desired major is Botany.

Thanks mommaof5, I was beginning to think all those Michigan flags, Michigan sweatshirts, Michigan neck ties, sweaters, key fobs etc. and dog collars were a curse. (I went to Kalamazoo for undergrad so no allegiance on my part). I’ve never been to a football game in Lansing only the Big House…It might be fun to wear green and sit in Spartan stadium :-)

I applied September 29 and got in October 20. 3.75 GPA, 32 ACT, lots of APs/honors

Still waiting on the honors college though…I really hope to get in but I feel like it’s unlikely now that nearly 2 months have passed since my acceptance

Accepted into the Honors College! 31 ACT, 3.9 GPA, a ton a ton a ton of AP/honors and extracurriculars. Not sure if I’ll be attending; I’m still waiting on UMich.

Got into the HC (big money for OOS), applied late Septemberish got accepted 10/19.
2280 SAT
3.875 GPA
National Merit Semifinalist (I wasn’t top 5% of my HS class, I’m thinking that maybe MSU used NMSF to invite me to the HC)

Pretty pumped to get into both MSU and the HC, mostly for the money. Still waiting to see if I get into Georgia Tech, I’m leaning towards GT if I get in (an engineering major turning down instate tuition at Georgia Tech would be highly irrational), but I’m not 100% on GT even if I get in. MSU is such a cool place, it would be toooooough to just say no.
