[] Strengths:
[] Weaknesses: maybe my critical reading score?
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: i dont know, but i heard that middlebury has strange criteria for people and that they choose who they accept. i hope this means that bowdoin thinks differently then middlebury!!
[/ul]General Comments:
Congrats to everyone else! It wasnt my top choice and I had never visited so I’m not DEVASTATED- I was kind of preparing myself for rejection anyway.

ughhh too frustrated to post stats now…
i was waitlisted. AFTER being deferred back in december. this is the most drawn out process ever…

[/ul]
General Comments: I know that I should be happy, since I’m into two of Middlebury’s peer schools, but I was a bit disappointed. Middlebury was never my top choice, but I was hoping to be accepted. My interview went very well. I’m not going to stay on the waitlist. I’ll most likely be attending Carleton, Haverford, Hamilton, or Ohio State in the fall.

wait really leeloo231!? i thought schools NEVER do that, they always either accept/reject after being deferred!
…thats just mean

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: CR, W, and ACT scores. Good grades, toughest course load at my school. Lots of Extracurriculars, Great recantations
[] Weaknesses: ESSAY, ugh. Math score, no APs, tiny, unrecognizable school, no major awards or honors
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My weaknesses, and the fact that there were some crazy good applicants this year, and a lot of them. I just wasn’t at the top.
[/ul]General Comments: I was expecting this, or maybe a waitlist. I got waitlisted at BC, which had been my top choice. But I’m realizing more and more that they wouldn’t have been a good fit for me. Midd would have been nice, but it is what it is. I got in at Colgate, and It looks like that’s where I am going to be next year! We got great financial aid. Good luck to everyone else!

@kazala–yep! it’s pretty mean, gotta say. at least if i were rejected i could walk away knowing i can fully devote myself to my other acceptances. but now i’m just in this limbo. ahhhhhh. i let them know, over and over, they were my top choice. so there must have been somethinggg stopping them from just accepting me…

D accepted to Middlebury, Bowdoin and Carleton. So lucky to be able to choose, but the choice will be very hard.

Decision: Rejected

Objective:[ul]

[] Teacher Recommendation: average, only knew her for 1+ years, not very close
[] Counselor Rec: average, same as ^
[] Additional Rec: didn’t see
[] Interview: didn’t have one
[/ul]Other[ul]

[] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: 75,000 - 100,000
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): NA
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Essay, research related to my intended subject
[] Weaknesses: Applied FA…?
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: They probably didn’t see me as a good fit for the school from my interests and aspirations.
[/ul]General Comments: Their decision did not come as a surprise, applied to Middlebury mainly for a shot at getting FA as an international. Guess I’ll have to find ways to fund myself to Berkeley  Congrats to those who got in!

Decision: Waitlisted

[] Essays: I don’t know why people fill in this section; without reading them, none of you guys knows if they were great or poorly written. That being said, I shared my essay with parents, teachers, peers, etc., listened to their feedback, and thought the final draft was strong.

[] Weaknesses: ECs? (leadership positions?)
[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I honestly have no idea.
[/li]

[/ul]General Comments:
I guess I’m glad I still have a chance, but this is getting annoying. After Wash U and GW, this is the third school I’ve been waitlisted at. Unless I get into Georgetown (or one of the Ivies I applied to), I’m not going to know where I’m going until May/June. :/

Decision: Rejected

Mostly for scoring high on tests
[/li]

Subjective:

[]Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Too many. President of 3 Clubs, Founder of 2, 3 other major leadership positions, lots of tutoring especially! It really is too long of a list to explain fully

[]Essays: Rather good
[]Teacher Recommendation: Never saw! Presumably good!
[]Counselor Rec: Didn’t see, probably on the generic side
[]Additional Rec: Calc I teacher from summer session, it was rather good!
[li]Interview: It was incredible! The woman told me that mine was the best interview she’s ever given for Middlebury! It lasted 3.5 hours, and she wants me to tutor her younger son and marry her older one! (?!?! hahaha uhh)
[/li]

Other

[]State (if domestic applicant): NJ

[li]Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Haha
[/li]

Reflection

[]Strengths: Essays, SATs, other test scores, course load
[]Weaknesses: awful grades! Freshman and sophomore years were unfortunately spent doing reprehensible things, as opposed to focusing on studying. But also I have this weird thing against boring homework. In all honesty, school is just really awfully boring for me (hence the full AP load!), and I have not been a great student for it.
[]Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: The reasons are numerous and most are evident
[]Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted at Rutgers, Wellesley (likely letter), waitlisted at Boston College

[/ul]General Comments: :(! But not altogether unexpected

[/ul]Other[ul]
[] Applied for Financial Aid?: YES
[] Intended Major: I think in the end I went in undecided

[] Strengths: mm I dunno, I really didn’t think I’d get in

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I’m shocked! A French teacher at my school always made fun of me for applying to Middlebury because he knew a kid with perfect SATs, was valedictorian, had a million APs, etc and he got rejected. So this is pretty cool :)
[/li]

[/ul]General Comments: Also accepted to Northeastern, UMichigan, Carleton, BC, Colby and NYU Abu Dhabi. Attending NYUAD though (their financial aid is unbeatable)
