I’m trying to decide between whether I want to major in business or just economics and save business for grad school. The list of decisions are as follows:

Accepted:
Wesleyan
Middlebury
Penn
Caltech
Dartmouth
UChicago
WashU in St. Louis
Northwestern
NYU
Williams
University of Michigan

Waitlisted:
Harvard
Yale
Columbia
Brown

Rejected:
Stanford

What would you think would be the best choice for a very strong economics program? I’m assuming Wharton is the obvious choice if I wanted to major in business. Any suggestions?

I think UChicago is traditionally viewed as having the strongest Econ program of any of the 16(!) schools to which you applied.

gaarachick, that’s a lot of choices, but pick Middlebury!

I’d say the same for aristoche but I don’t know from economics programs

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: could have shown more of a demonstrated interest.[/li][/ul]General Comments: Rejected from Brown, Georgetown and Tufts. Wait listed at George Washington and Middlebury. Accepted to Washington University in St. Louis, Boston University, Northeastern University and University of Vermont. After not getting into Brown, Middlebury is my top choice so I’m doing as much as I can to get off the wait list. Falling back onto Wash U if that doesn’t work out.
