What is UIUC

University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign

University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
http://www.uiuc.edu/

Ridiculously renowned engineering program for a state school. Very pretty campus.

D'oh! Cross-posting!

From what I have heard, her IBT score is around 100..
I just checked, she got IOI bronze medal in 11th grade and IOI Silver medal in 12th grade.

I think I shouldn't tell the country I am from or else it would be very easy to find out who she is.

^isnt that already enough info if we are really nosy?

StevenJPenny: How did you get into MITES if you're not a minority?

^
There are a couple of whites and asians in MITES every year.

I'm poor, come from a small rural school in which <50% of the student go to 4 year colleges (and which has NEVER sent anyone to a top 10 school), and I'm adopted.

That would do it.

My daughter got some great news yesterday after the depressing non-admit letter from MIT...accepted at Stevens with a full tuition merit scholarship. Hopefully everyone that was not admitted at MIT finds similar acceptance (and money!) at other great schools. Still waiting to hear from Cooper Union, CMU, and Columbia, but it's tough to turn down a full ride.

Accepted

This is my friend's not myself!
