Official MIT Class of 2016 RD Discussion Thread

rejected :frowning: but congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!!

waitlisted :frowning: sighh. ehhh wtever. wasnt planning on going anyways but its still depressing :(

Rejected :/

waitlisted???

I didn’t have a planned reaction to this one :/

so what’s coming up for waitlisted applicants like us?

HAHAHAHA. rejected. huge surprise, though
[/sarcasm]

RE RE REJECTED!! Forget MIT, I got accepted to GIT in December.

Can’t bother with stats either. Congrats, you lucky ones.

Somehow, accepted <3

Rejected, international from portugal (2260, 800physics 800math2, 114 toefl). Will post stats tomorrow, probably.

rejected. Had little hope of getting in to begin with tho.

Accepted! What a lovely Pi Day gift! Congrats to all accepted and best of luck to everyone! :)

Rejected too, might post stats later. Surprisingly I’m not even disappointed, as I expected a rejection. Seeing it in print was only a confirmation of what I already knew, and honestly the waiting was the worst part. At least I know! Congrats to everyone who got accepted :D

2/19 so far.

ACCEPTED(: yeeeeeeeeeeah
any Houstonians or Japanese?

Accepted

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

My son was accepted! He was at work and didn’t even know. Good thing this helicopter parent somehow remembered his password. :-)

Didn’t apply to the school but saw some of the decisions thread results and looked pretty brutal with very well qualified applicants being rejected. Hopefully everything works out for everyone.

My son was waitlisted but this is on his ‘low priority’ list since he doesn’t plan to major in engineering (though it is a consideration as a 2nd major or minor). He was already accepted to his first choice at Stanford. Hopefully the other two students who applied from his school got in though as they both want MIT first choice. You just never know what they’re looking for. He’s the highest candidate from his school to have applied (compared to previous years) where the school has had acceptances with lower grades and test scores. I guess being ‘undeclared’ was his weakness.
@ sbjdorlo
my son made me promise NOT to sign in to find out. He was at school for sports practice and his coach let him check then he called to tell me. It was so hard waiting for his call when I could just push a button to find out! But I did as promised and didn’t peak =)

Since our admit rate was 8.9 percent this year, that’s actually a little high.

It was really tough.

Bye bye, MIT

I feel dumb I thought I had a chance !!
Congratulations, acceptees, I
