@mimi. I think the counselor forms are the ones they get from admissions. I didn’t ask my counselor (who is also my recommender) to send anything like that in this time around, but when i went to check my app status it said they had an activities list and college prep form from me.

@mimi. unless it’s talking about the online part that the counselor has to fill out, which is a quick thing where they put your GPA down and a few comments.

Thanks Carmelita3!! If I didn’t put my counselor’s name down…is that going to be a problem since they’ll already have it from the Undergraduate Admissions?

I’m not sure to be honest. I’d email Toni Ramirez and ask her about that. I wish we didn’t have to wait so long to find out :(

Haha thanks! I’ll probably do that soon!

Same, it’s quite annoying. Haha. Oh well, I haven’t even been accepted yet, so I’m just waiting for that! But I’m sure you’ll be fine. Good luck to you! I’m hoping to get the scholarship tooo! (Preferably Distinction…) Hahahaha.

I’d be happy to even get it at the normal level. I’m involved with an on-going argument with my parents. No MSP, no OSU. :(

Oh trust me, I know how you feel! OSU is my number one choice, it’s so hard with OOS tuition and all that! I am confident that you’ll get it though, you seem to have great stats! And judging from the past recipients of MSP, I think you’re a pretty strong candidate!! I hope everything works out for you, I’m sure it will!

Oh PS! I’m also going into Biology (Pre-Med)!! How awesome!!
Congrats on getting accepted to OSU btw! I haven’t even been accepted/denied yet, and it’s driving me insane!!

In years past, there have been many full-tuition scholarships given out, more than people usually expect.
But, for those of you hoping for the full tuition, room and board, and miscellaneous expenses scholarship, there’s only 10 given out (I only know that because I was fortunate enough to get one a few years ago).
However, I know multiple people that got the full tuition scholarship, a couple with ACT scores as low as 25. As long as you present yourself well in the essays and you have taken a somewhat rigorous curriculum in high school (and, of course, done well), you should definitely be in the running for full tuition.

@schrute. thank you! I presented myself well (I hope) in my essay. Is it more aimed towards the essay then? were your stats similar to mine?

My stats were a bit better. I would say your shot at Distinction isn’t all that great, but there’s still a shot if your essays/recs were exceptional.
But, your stats are typical of the people that get the full tuition scholarship, so I’d say you have a pretty good shot at that one.

To be honest, distinction doesn’t matter to me. As long as I get the full tuition one I’m good thank you very much, it was quite frustrating trying to find past recipients who were still on college confidential.

No problem.
It’s winter break and I live in Ohio. There’s not much else to do. hahaha

haha i know the feeling. do u remember when exactly you heard back from MSP?

carmelita, my D heard last year on March 25 or March 26. I believe they are going to notify early appliers earlier this year.

I don’t remember exactly when it was, but it was sometime in March, so the post above me probably has pretty accurate dates.

my son is a junior at osu on the full tuition msp. my daugther got it last year with a 30 on her act,but decided to go to wisconsin.she waited until april to turn it down and,one of her friends who were wait listed and got it. so if you like osu don’t give up if you miss the first round.

I just received a phone call saying that they reviewed mine early and I’ve received the excellence scholarship!!! I’m so happy I could cry!

Congrats!!!

Congratulations Carmelita3! Had you looked at your status before your heard or since? We applied early but still says submitted for review.

@momofsomeone-thank you! My status online still says submitted for review. I’m not sure when it’s going to change exactly. The phone call came from my recruitor, Daniel Thomas. He congratulated me and said I’d receive an official notice about it in march.
