@chihigh I know how you feel. Once Linda told me that it’ll take 3 years to get out to UCLA or Berkeley I was pretty bummed. I also want to get out of here ASAP so UCSD is now #1 on my transfer list… besides with the engineering/science majors our bachelors don’t mean a whole lot since we’re going to be applying to graduate schools soon after…

I feel like this thread needs to be revived…
Dainese, how’s your first year at USC treating ya?

haha yea its been pretty dead lately…but that only means that everyone is working hard or doesnt need help atm which is always good.

thanks for asking haha!

my first year has been nothing but awesome lol
classes are great, grades are great, transition was okay
but nothing beats the school pride of USC.

are you applying this year?

@Dainese and everyone else who has contributed to this thread, I want to thank you.

I just got my first acceptance to UCSD as a mathematics major. I’m too nervous to open up the official decisions page for UCLA and still waiting on UCB/privates. But, the point is, that I never would have gotten everything done if not for you guys helping me.

So tl;dr I love you guys in a purely platonic (or not ;] ) way

Oh, and to the people who said one year transferring isn’t possible, suck it!

^ Congrats!!! Open that UCLA decision… lol

@jet - CONGRATS! hopefully its the first of many acceptances haha
sd is a beautiful campus and gl wherever u go!

keep us all updated on where u decide!

@everyone - update us before you disappear from college confidential haha
and if anyone ends up at USC, hit me up! ill give you the tour
or if anyone just want to check out USC, im up for that too!

all of you potential transfers are going to be going to great universities and it gets me excited FOR YOU!
no longer will mtsac be known as mt STUCK or UCLA (university of california left on amar)
heres to transferring ladies and gents.
if you are in honors and decide to attend the honors graduation/transfer banquet thingy, let me know about it cuz id def want to come and personally congratulate you on your endeavors.

woot woot, fight on everyone!

JetLogic LA?

I still haven’t checked, mostly because I’m pretty sure I didn’t get in. When my status changed from econ to math, I didn’t account for having to take C++ and when I decided to not do Chinese, I figured that my high school foreign language would be able to cover IGETC. Turns out not. I know LA is really strict with their pre-requisites and so is Berkeley. At this point I’d rather just check Berk and LA at the same time so I can absorb the (in all likelihood) rejection.

But who knows. I’m still waiting and hoping more for the few privates I applied for; even if they don’t work out, I’m perfectly okay with heading to UCSD for now. I may try transferring again if I end up there, but I just don’t know yet. At least no matter what, I’ll be done with hellish heat and parking.

^ Berkeley just came out… good luck!!!

I guess it really lives up to its reputation as Mt. Stuck. At this point it looks like I’ll be here another year thanks to the ****ed up costs of college and the lack of aid I receive.

:( try appealing, you usually get more.

It’s not a small amount:/

With my current situation, I’d have to take out about 13k a year in private loans in addition to already getting both types of stafford loans maxed and work study

I’d never get out of debt…and that annoys me!

I guess my goal for this year will just be to get Jack Kent Cooke

dang. thats a bummer
good job on thinking ahead with debt lol
ill probably be wrrying about that, but ill let future me deal with it.

gl with JKC, the two peeps that got it last year are at USC and NYU now. i can get some contact info if u need help with it etc

Jet. not considering SD?

Summer registration dates are out

Sorry to hear that Jet
If anything, this’ll give you a chance to improve your already impressive academic credentials. Cal-Tech here you come? :D?

Indeed, summer registration dates are out. I got the 20th, which I think isn’t too bad. You guys think it’s good enough to get me into one of the two Math 180 classes being offered for the intersession? I’ve heard they fill up pretty quickly.

^ How many units have you completed to get the 20th? Not counting this spring

You should be able to get in. But be prepared to work your butt off. lol 180 is tough during intersession.

i got the 21st…

I’ve taken 23 units worth of classes before this semester, so I was surprised I managed to get a decent date…
But eh, I’m not fighting it ^_^

Is it possible to transfer from a CC to an Ivy?
