Anyone heard any info on boarding school cut off for this year yet?

Thank you for the info about the embargo date! That’s extremely helpful! :)

Fingers crossed here…212 in MO

To my understanding there isn’t just one boarding school cut-off but, rather, ten. Boarding schools (defined as schools with more than 50% boarders, I think) are assigned to one of 10 regions formed from groups of states. I believe the cut-off school for the region is that of the highest state in the region. I have never seen any of this “officially” described but this information is a summary of that of knowledgeable posters in years past.

Bottom line is that you’ll have to wait until states near you are finalized.

Oklahoma is down at least 1 point -208 made it!

Congratulations Oklahomadad!!! That is great news! We are still waiting in MI with a 211 and keeping our fingers crossed. You have just given me a little hope!

Florida is down at least 1 point - 213 made it!

So then …

10(?) Boarding school regions
No scores reported yet.
These usually are set to be equal to the highest cut-off score among the individual states in the region.

Internationals=?
This usually is set to be equal to the highest cut-off score among all the individual states.

Commended (national cutoff) = 200
Any person with a score equal to or higher than this cutoff who is not a NMSF receives commended status. This group represents the highest 50,000 scorers.

I have twins. We live in Kentucky. DD scored 219 and DS scored 208. Our school’s GC just called and they both made NMSF! DS always likes to cut it down to the wire and his score was no exception. I didn’t think he would make it based on the cutoff from the past few years.

My son just made the semifinalist cut in NH! He got a 217.

Wow! Down 4 in KY. Perhaps I was too conservative. :)

Congratulations!!

Sitting pretty confident here at 221 for Maine but even with an email to the GC, no word yet…

Congratulations, Oklahomadad, rmldad, amygin, and mom2three! Woo hoo! :)

@mom2threeplusdog

Thanks for the info! With schools closed in West Florida there would have been no way for me to know until tomorrow!

Congrats to your child as well :)

Thanks for the information and Clapuma’s predictions. Called our new CC today; she told me that they knew the numbers but she didn’t think she could tell me yet. new CC and old CC are having a meeting tomorrow. I have meeting with new CC on Friday. Hope to know by then but I’m hoping that 219 is good enough in IL. Last year was 216 & Clapuma predicts -2 points this year. I’ll keep you posted. hope to know before mid September! S13 hasn’t taken the SAT…

222 made it in WA

Congrats AstroBlue!

^Awesome How did you find out?!

Boarding Schools 221 (-2 from last year)

DS made it! :)

Any news on Texas?

Does this mean the states with traditionally highest cut-off may have 221 cutoff this year?
For example, the cutoff for MA and DC may be 221?
