WooHoo!! Then my D in CO Springs is good too; maybe we’ll hear tomorrow.

I just found out that I am a NMSF. I am from Ohio and my score was a 213. I hope that helps.

A PM to me confirmed that the NE boarding school cutoff was 221.
Caution–although this strongly suggests both that the MA, DC, and international cutoffs are also 221 and that 221 is also the highest national cut-off, I suggest waiting for more information before considering all of this final.

Last years cutoffs:

10(?) Boarding school regions
NE region=221
These usually are set to be equal to the highest cut-off score among the individual states in the region.

Internationals=?
This usually is set to be equal to the highest cut-off score among all the individual states.

Commended (national cutoff) = 200
Any person with a score equal to or higher than this cutoff who is not a NMSF receives commended status. This group represents the highest 50,000 scorers.

Ohrye1^

S went back to school today after the principal had told him to speak to head of guidance. We have a new head of guidance and he did not know anything about NMSF etc. He said he would try to get back to my S around 9/5.
Ohrye1 maybe your school would have more expertise in this area?
Is anyone else from NJ on CC?

Descartesz and everyone else…thanks for all your hard work on CC.

My daughter is in Nebraska and was just notified she is a semi finalist she scored a 234. Classmates said the cutoff was 207.

vry…mom, Based on Clapuma’s prediction and NE-BS cutoff, NJ cutoff does not look like higher than 221.
I am also waiting for MA result! Anybody from MA (and NJ)?

Congratulations to all of the NMSFs! Great job to all! How exciting to know you’re on your way…

Mummy is going crazy in OR, as we await SOME word from SOMEONE! :S

Yeah. My son got 222 in GA. He should be set.

Letter in hand…NMSF in MD with a 221!! I’m so excited! :)

Here’s the thing though…I had the highest score for my school, and I know for a fact that the next two highest were 219’s. My counselor called me down to the office and said I was “the last one to come down to see her” so I’m assuming the other 2 made it. Tentatively, MD’s cutoff dropped to at LEAST 219.

i can double-check that number and post back later. congrats everyone!!!

Looking for Oregon scores…anybody?

yay! Best news I’ve heard all week Cubanita! That means my son’s 222 is golden in MD, though we still haven’t heard anything!

TN cutoff is 210. Spoke with GC who had called to confirm cutoff.

Nothing from CA yet? Our school just posted that 2 made NMSF out of 22 that were initially announced (the other 20 will be commended)… My daughter takes PSAT for keeps this OCT 17th, just caught up in the process! She scored 211 last year as a Soph, and is currently taking classes to improve on that!

Good news! 216 from Georgia made it!

thanks muse! That’s a 4 point drop for TN! I was hoping for a 6 pt drop for one of D’s friends but knew it was unlikely.

go2013 ^

Thanks go2013 but Descartesz also said this in post #138.

On boarding schools–nothing is certain, yet. According to my understanding it could be possible for one region to have a cut-off of 221 and other regions and states to have higher ones. My advice is to wait for more information before jumping to conclusions.

And this in #143

Caution–although this strongly suggests both that the MA, DC, and international cutoffs are also 221 and that 221 is also the highest national cut-off, I suggest waiting for more information before considering all of this final.

We are just hoping for some validation soon.

Good Luck to you in MA.

Just called cutoff for New Jersey is 221, My D made it ! Congratulation on all ! Thanks for Clapuma’s Prediction. It is really awesome !

Well, I got one right at least. :). Congrats in NJ.

Clapuma, You did great job !

I am in MA. I scored 221, so I’ve kinda been dreading this news since December haha! (Too bad since I immediately went 2320 on my SAT right after the PSAT haha!) But the news of NJ, MD, and and the Boarding Schools has put me at ease for now!

When anyone hears about MA, please post! Thanks everyone and congrats to those who have heard good news already!
