Official National Merit Semifinalist Qualifying Score Thread for the Class of 2013

Pdxsuzanne, where are you in pdx? My kid’s school won’t release anything…

And cheers to clapuma for doing a great job with the predictions!

So far, I count eleven examples of states with cutoff scores below last year, which supports modern Clapumanomic theory that qualifying cutoffs this year will be down down down! (OK, FL, KY, CO, OH, NE, MD, TN, NJ, GA & Boarding Schools).

Good work, Professor Clapuma! :-)

We’re anxiously awaiting word from NV. My son’s counselor informed me that the school administration will not release information to NMSFs until the Sept 12 publicity embargo date for fear that they will break the rules if they tell students anything before then. Not true, I know, but that’s their policy and they’re sticking to it.

Thanks so much for posting Timetunnel.

Thanks again Clapuma.

Good Luck to all still waiting.

Chuck Taylor: “modern Clapumanomic theory” lol! I’ve been reading his every word and hoping he’s right about MO!

I have too! Waiting with a 213 in Missouri! Our school said that they will tell the students as soon as they get the information, and it has been 7 days now since Natl Merit mailed it out and no news yet. So hard to wait! Congrats to all who have made it so far!!

@mummy24 – just PM’d you…

I agree Clapumanomic theory is great! I, however, assumed SHE. Not sure why!

Waiting in LA. I think everyone is too focused on Hurricane Isaac here in New Orleans to be worried about NMSF!

Thanks everyone for all the great info!

I have a 205 in Oklahoma… oh well, gotta move on, haha.

215 makes it in Illinois!

@Nolamcgrath

Waiting here in MS same here no school due to Isaac will be at least Thursday

@Slicekick

YES!!! (217 in IL). This scholarship means everything to me. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to go to college at all. The importance of the PSAT should be advertised more. Congrats to everyone!

Congrats collegebound666!!!

congrats to slicekick & collegebound666. Thank you for the info.

s13 makes it in IL based on your numbers…:)

Yay! Also a 217 in illinois. Congrats slicekick and collegebound666!

Was that your score or did you hear about the cut off scores?

I’m in Illinois. I saw someone say that 215 was in. Was that your score or the cut off score. I have a 214.

Hokiepokie

I read post #169 as their score, not the cutoff score. Good luck! :wink: Still waiting in Texas!

Just got email from Guidance Counselor.

Daughter has 214 in Illinois and qualified for SemiFinalist.

Congrats fellow Illinoisans!

Sent from my MB865 using CC

I know my D’s 207 score in Texas won’t qualify for semi-finalist but she has already received a letter stating she is a National Hispanic Scholar so I assume she’ll also be commended, right? Just double checking.
