Selection sunday will be here soon enough. Who do you think will win it all?

If the cool NCAA tournament started today...

Adding the .003 road win bonus, we get the follow top teams.

1 Minnesota
2 New Hampshire
3 Notre Dame
4 St. Cloud State
5 Clarkson
6 Boston University
7 Maine
8 Denver
9 North Dakota
10 Michigan
11t Miami
11t Boston College
13t Colorado College
13t Vermont
13t Michigan Tech
16t Massachusetts
16t St. Lawrence
16t Michigan State

Plus we'll project Niagara and RIT as autobids for conference championships. MSU apparently loses the tie-breaker for the last spot in and gets shafted. So we get the following bands:

1 Minnesota
2 New Hampshire
3 Notre Dame
4 St. Cloud State

5 Clarkson
6 Boston University
7 Maine
8 Denver

9 North Dakota
10 Michigan
11 Miami
12 Boston College

13 Colorado College
14 Vermont
15 Niagara
16 RIT

That gives us the following first round matchups

Grand Rapids:
Minnesota vs RIT
Denver vs North Dakota

Manchester:
UNH vs Niagara
Maine vs Michigan

Rochester:
Notre Dame vs Vermont
Miami vs BU

Denver:
St. Cloud State University vs Colorado College
BC vs Clarkson

Intra-conference first round matchups galore. Swap Michigan with North Dakota, and Notre Dame with SCSU (as they're really indifferent between the two host sites). This gives us

Grand Rapids:
Minnesota vs RIT
Denver vs Michigan

Manchester:
UNH vs Niagara
Maine vs North Dakota

Rochester:
SCSU vs Vermont
Miami vs BU

Denver:
Notre Dame vs Colorado College
BC vs Clarkson

And it at least seems like each regional should do well enough attendance-wise. GR has Michigan and Minny. Manchester has UNH and Maine. Rochester has Vermont and BU (hopefully enough). Denver is a little weak with just Colorado College, but there's not much else out there.

\doesn't like your bouncy-ball sport

Okay, well I thought it was obvious we were talking about NCAA Basketball tournament.
THIS IS A BASKETBALL DISCUSSION

North Carolina for sure.

It was obvious. But basketball sucks.

/apparently idiots can't read the slashies

Well if you don't like it stay out of the thread.

Indeed, that post is not worth 5 seconds of reading.

ah, bruins. <3

North Carolina for sure.

After blowing a 12-point lead at MARYLAND, I question their ability to hold up down the stretch. :P

Penn will make their one game appearance and I am gonna enjoy every moment of it.

"Indeed, that post is not worth 5 seconds of reading."

And you contributed something useful how...?

UCLA will make it all the way to the championship this year

I was wondering what that list was about lol.

I really like UofA to make a deep run in the tourney.

yeah dilksy! i like your post. I live between SCSU and the U of M but I've always cheered for the Huskies. After sweeping the Gophers this past weekend, I think SCSU has a good shot at it.

Who do you like as a mid-major? Southern Illinois, Butler....any others?

SCSU has a pretty good shot. They've been doing good down the stretch so far, as opposed to the Goofers who pretty had the most disappointing end of a season ever last year. I'm pretty confident that SCSU can make the Frozen Four, but who knows what'll happen there. Odds are there will be 3 seperate conferences represented that don't see that much inter-league play, so it's hard to compare.

this time of the year just makes me hate being a DI athlete because gambling on sports can cost me my eligibility.

George Mason is making a run at their conference championship...

ODU would've had a really good shot to make some noise, but with their lose to Mason they probably won't get in.

I'm gonna say that three of the teams in the Elite Eight are going to be mid-majors.

Florida will win their second consecutive basketball championship, a feat that was last accomplished by Duke in '91 and '92.

... Or at least I hope so. :)
