Official Nepal's EDII and RD Thread- Class of 2016

I thought that I could easily pass this 3-4 months waiting time, between my jobs and friends and reading etc.

But I am the first one to admit that the wait is killing me over and on top of that, watching so many good students get deferred and rejected (oh! Gosh) doesn’t help at all in this ever waxing anxiety either.

I am panicking even over petty things like not getting interview calls from college where I never had any shot in the first place ( I was delusional even to apply)…

I just realized that I am ranting… Good day. Thank you.

One of my friends got deferred from Hamilton…so I wanted to know what are the chances?? coz’ Hamilton doesn’t defer all EDII applicants (instead of rejecting) does it…

Hamilton is low on money, honestly. I just don’t understand why so many people with low CR scores ED there - Hamilton is big on Critical Reading skills. And when money is so tight, they are very unlikely to take aid-asking Nepalese with low CR scores.

Oh and,

ED II Acceptance:

Bryn Mawr - RBS (1)

A frn of mine got rejected frm Hamilton,he had 700+ in CR.
College admission is so unpredictable
Btw,I also got rejected from Hamilton ed 2

well my friend had just about 610 CR…and still he got deferred instead of rejected…

Why are so few Nepalis getting accepted this year? This and the fact that I have only applied RD to colleges totally outside my league is driving me nuts. I know I’ll probably be rejected everywhere but I’d rather that happened soon so I can stamp out this irrational hope and get on with studying for finals.

AARGGHH…WHY SUCH A LONG WAIT COLLEGES??

/end rant

This wait is driving me nuts…and i dont knw if i should attend JUB or not…doesn’t seem that bad…please everyone present ur views on this?

Wow, all this news of deferrals and rejections really sucks. It makes me anxious about decision day too; I just hope the officers are in a good mood when reviewing my file. I hate how college admission can be so subjective and how we can’t do anything but wait.

Hamilton is low on money, like I said. They say so explicitly on their website. It is better to apply to Carleton / Grinnell ED than Hamilton ED. Even Vassar ED is more plausible than a Hamilton ED.

where is everybody again…post something…

hello… I interviewed with a Brown Alumnus a couple of weeks ago…

Was selected as a semi-finalist at University of Richmond, but wasn’t selected as a finalist though. Hope they give me financial aid to attend.

except that… I am waiting and waiting… anxiously

inshadesofgray, I am in the same situation as yours. I have not been able to focus on studies at all. I have still high hopes and the decision is all that I can think of at the moment.
I am quite sure I am going to perform poorly on the final exam.

Is Interview part of Richmond…??? And what is a Brown Alum. got to do with UR.  Hey specific can you make it clear.

hey … Hamilton is much better Ed option then any other you mentioned… is it because you were rejected…??

No. I will be applying this year, in 2012. Hamilton is NOT a better ED Option, because it neither has quotas like Grinnell and Carleton do for Nepalese nor does it agree to cover all financial aid an international student may need like Vassar does (they may be need-aware, but if you are accepted, they will fulfill 100% of your needs.)

Haha … What then you will look for college with quotas??? They are need aware and accept students in ED. They meet your need and even last year they gave away the money for plane ticket to student accepted in early decision, who was eventually from BNKS. So How can you be so sure that Hamilton is not a better option??? Best of luck with your application buddy …

Union College (NY), anyone???

yeah!! I thought so too about Hamilton…also SPECIFIC… did u submit the CSS Profile to Uni of Richmond…what is that semi-finalist and all that stuff…please clarify…i have applied RD to UR not heard anything from them so far

Someone asked me what is that Brown Alum thing, right? I had an admission interview with an alumnus of Brown University.

As far as URichmond is concerned, semi-finalist status is for Richmond Scholars Program (those who apply by December 1st compete for it)… Yes, they provided me with a fee waiver code and I submitted them my CSS…
