Reflection:

Strengths: Standardized testing, demonstrated activities in my intended major, geographic location (Midwest)
Weaknesses: Grade drop second semester junior year, demonstrated interest
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: NEU seems to focus on stats, recommendations were good
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: accepted at University of Missouri

General Comments:

I was admitted with honors and a $22k/yr Dean’s Scholarship, along with enough grant aid to cover tuition.

If anyone has any questions, let me know!

To those deferred, does NEU tend to accept s lot of deferred applicants and can they still be awarded merit aid?

Reflection

My GPA was above average and my ACT was in the mid 50%. I knew I would easily get into this school. Not really that hard.

Strengths: GPA, test scores, ECs, being from the northwest and dual citizenship
Weaknesses: Dunno, not ivy level ECs I guess
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: GPA and test scores
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: N/A

General Comments : Northeastern was my safety school, but yet one of my top choices.

Tuition is $44,620 for this year, 2015-16 so likely that $30K WILL allow you to ALSO take $15K on top = $45,000 tuition! Call or email them to be sure.

@rkelly5182 - I’m 99% sure they won’t let you stack the 15k and the 30k.

@kaatherinee - deferred applicants are essentially moved to the RD pool and their applications will be reviewed as part of that group. Many, many students who are deferred EA and later admitted, even with merit scholarships and honors.
