@michiganb Congratulations!!!
@michiganb YOU GIVE ME HOPE PT. 2
@SwimmingDad Thanks for the info. I looked but only saw a Federal Financial Aid letter which is the need-based aid ( she got basically nothing). And No Merit aid. My D was accepted to some other schools and got decent Merit Aid. We were hoping for something from NU. So because she was accepted to NU IN, I’m wondering (hoping) if maybe the merit aid doesn’t get awarded until she’s on the Boston campus.
@ScaredofSchool McGill is significantly cheaper depending on the school (Faculty).

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: Honestly no idea, I was skeptical of my chances, but all my friends thought I would get in for sure. Kind of disappointed.
What would you have done differently?: Spent more time on my essay, get to know 1 or 2 teachers well so that they can write a good rec. My teachers really didn’t know me that well, so I can only imagine their recs were decent but generic.
Where else did you apply?
A lot of places, but I’ve only heard back from UAlabama, UMD, and UDelaware. Accepted to Honors Colleges at all three.
[ b]General Comments & Advice:**
Well I guess this is when I start getting rejected everywhere… I don’t think I really expected to be rejected to any of the schools I applied to but this kind of a wake up call. Oh well, at least I have some fallbacks in case I don’t get into any of my top choices.
I’m in New York and just got accepted, however I explicitly stated I didn’t want to be considered for their NU.in program but that’s where I was accepted into.
SAT 1400
ACT 30
GPA 4.0
@hudsonmom02 We have that same letter with that same amount. I’m assuming it just means they gave us $0. My son is NU in as well…maybe that is it. But I fear it really is just $0.
@hudsonmom02 I would doubt if there would be merit aid for spring.
Can admission decisions be viewed from Safari on a phone?
@LILPUMPJETSKKI Dang man African American here too I’m screwed
Just got accepted into the Music Industry program (so I submitted a portfolio for that)! I got 35K merit aid, but basically zero need-based aid (???). I live in NY btw, and my ACT is 32.
Well I typed out a long post in the format I was supposed to, but it got deleted after I submitted it somehow. Anyways, I got waitlisted. 2300 SAT, 790 Math II, 760 Chem, ~3.75 UW GPA (my school only reports weighted) and 4.0 Weighted. Decent essays and recs. About average extracurriculars, for students at a school like NEU anyway. Resident of PA.
I just don’t know why I was waitlisted. I was skeptical about my chances, but all my friends seemed to think there was little to no chance I wouldn’t get in. Their confidence got my hopes up, but here I am getting waitlisted. Hadn’t really been rejected anywhere up until now, but I guess as more schools release decisions I should prepare myself for the possibility there will be more rejections
Congrats to everyone who got in btw!
@SwimmingDad Yeah that’s my fear too…
