@ethanwatson4 If your parents are able to contribute but refuse to there is no “magic”.
is there a groupme for admitted students?
S accepted. Deans scholarship. Will hopefully be replaced by National Merit Scholarship. Hoping to see need based FA after sending requested documentation.
Are many people asked to send requested documentation? I’ve been asked to send 2 more documents after having already sent 2 in January. I thought only a select percentage were chosen, but it feels like several people are being asked for it.
Would anyone mind sharing their EFC and need-based financial aid?

did they already send out the emails for the schedule for welcome day?? i haven’t received anything besides the confirmation
@alexa2143 Yes - March 25th or April 9th. They sent the email about 3 hours back.
I got accepted, but it was into the NU.in program. I was wondering if there is anyone else who got accepted into this program and if so, which destination are they thinking of choosing.
@juliadanan I was also accepted to NUin. If I decide to go to NEU, I’ll most likely go to Ireland bc out of the choices I have for my major (civil engineering) it seems like the best. Plus once you’re in Europe, all the coolest cities/ countries are all a train ride away.
@juliadanan I was accepted into NUin for mechanical engineering. I’m torn between Dublin and Melbourne, but I’m leaning towards Melbourne because I may never have the opportunity to go to Australia again. While I was surprised and a bit confused about getting into the program, I think that’s part of the beauty of it: getting to do something life-changing you would’ve never done otherwise.

Is Welcome Day also for those admitted to NU in? S never received an email about it. Is info in portal somewhere?
I don’t think anyone who is accepted o the NUI program will be receiving “normalized” financial aid. I think they’re taking the total cost for the International program out of the total cost for the year. At least that’s what I am guessing knowing what our expected family contribution is in what we got which was basically nothing
I just got a phone call from a staff member congratulating me on getting in and inviting me to the welcome day. Does everyone get a phone call because I don’t think I’m in the top applicant pool?
@LBIcollege I saw on Northeastern’s website that they subtract the EFC from the total yearly cost. So did they pretty much give you financial aid for only the 2nd semester? I just submitted the tax forms they needed and am waiting to see what they give me if they do give me anything.

Do NUin students get a tangible acceptance packet via snail mail?
