So the decisions come out online, or in the mail?

E-mail I think, judging from the ED thread!!

Also Northwestern doesn’t have an applicant status portal! Does it??

Hey guys! I applied RD to the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences for a major in Cognitive Science.

And no @rishav17, Northwestern doesn’t have an applicant status portal. :l The wait is killing me…

@icepulse - Hey! Is Northwestern your top choice??

And yup I know, just rechecking!! :D

Yeah, Northwestern is without a doubt my first choice.
I probably got rejected though so I really shouldn’t be in any hurry to get that decision back. :P

You never know…so be positive. Good Luck!

First choice around these parts, too.

I thought I heard that decisions came March 22 last year but now I can’t find a source for that! does anyone have a reliable idea of what time and how they will be released?

I looked at Northwestern originally without a huge amount of interest but it’s nearby, a great school, and my mom’s alma mater for grad school. Then I visited and learned more about it and kind of fell in love with how perfectly it fits my varied interests and I managed to write a super specific “why NU” essay." If I don’t get into my top choice (Columbia) I would be very happy here! (assuming I got in here, that is haha)

@icepulse - Haha!! And how did you come upon that conclusion??
Anyway - it’s my top choice too, in the sense that I’ll go here even if I get into any Ivy(except Princeton - which is my super-duper high reach & will go there IF miracles do happen) !!

@luv2dance - Northwestern doesn’t seem release a specific date for admissions (didn’t do so for class of 2015 & 2016 decisions). However judging by the fact that on the CSS profile, Northwestern notes it’s aid notification date as April 1st - the decisions should be any time before that!! Also NorthwesternDad pointed out that 28th is Ivy decision day & Northwestern would probably release a decisions a day or two before 28th!!

I was checking out Norhwestern’s campus & housing(online) - and from what I saw, I can totally see myself there for the next four years!! Hopefully the admissions officers share my view! :p

@luv2dance1995 According to the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/1260383-official-regular-decision-northwestern-university-class-2016-a-22.html from last year, people seemed to get the email on March 23 around 6. That would be the 3rd friday of march which means March 22 this year as you said (complete speculation, no idea if this is true)

^the 6 is eastern time since i believe they release decisions at 5 central time

ok so i lik completely forgot i had applied to northwestern lol. but lik can some1 tell me lik what makes northwestern unique? lik if some asked sumthin lik duke vs northwestern what would the argument be for northwestern? besides higher acceptance rates lol.

Yikes that is going to be here before we know it! DS is waiting on NW, as well as ND, Vandy and WUST. WUST is the first to notify, as soon as next week. Glad to know it’s via email, not a student portal and to have ourselves near a computer on 3/22 @ 5:00 p.m.

JRswish, they’re both great schools. At that level it’s got to be a personal choice, based on location, individual departments, class choices, that sort of thing.

Duke has better hoops, certainly.

busymomma – If it’s like it was last year, the e-mail contains a link to … a student portal. NU and UChicago came out on the same day. I banged on one of them and my son banged on the other until we were able to get through.

Yikes! If decisions are released on March 22, its just 23 days! I know … you all can add, too, but it just dawned on me that it is not too far away now! We toured NU and UChicago last year and fell in love with NU. But with the passage of time, DS has become more enamoured iwth UChicago (not sure why). Good luck to all who are waiting.

I’d bet that they’re going to come out a week later, on the 29th. In past years, they’ve come out in the last few days of March, and with the increase in applications I doubt we’re going to see decisions any earlier.

I thought they already announced that they’re going to release decisions on the 26th? Maybe I made that up in my head. Wishful thinking much?

Where did they announce that? Post a link or some other source if you can.

i so dont remember writing this…
