Hey, my D just started looking at NW, kind of a late add for her because she found out they have Global Health minor which she is VERY interested in. We don’t know much about this school - how difficult is it to get in?? 4.0 GPA (W) 33 ACT, most EC’s are sports (former competitive gymnast, pole vaulter, cross country) work exp- coaches gymnastics, church involvement.

@daphne66 i would reccomend looking at **************.com and search for Northwestern! Its a great site that I used when I wanted to discover more info about colleges, like programs, housing, admissions, etc. Northwestern has a pretty low acceptance rate, but your daughter seems to be around the average statistics!

gosh darn it i spelled recommend wrong, and the blocked out my site, its ************** .com

i give up

College *******

College p r o w l e r

Enjoy my struggles yall

@Cherrylee - I applied to SESP for Learning and Organizational Change, fingers crossed!

There are 179 Medill students this year!

Hahaha I love how it sensors out the enemy site.

@kk2013 Is that the total for the entire college or just the freshman class in Medill?

Wow it’s a pretty small number.

@Dennis124

I’m am international student from Korea and I am taking IB theatre HL. I’ve had plenty of both practical and academic experience in theatre, but I feel like I had less chance to express all that to NU since they’ve only got one writing supplement… I’m hoping my recommendation is good enough to support that…

I didn’t specify an area of theatre that I want to pursue… but most likely acting…

I’m so nervous!!!

One week, everybody!!! (or maybe a couple days more than that, but still)

Anyone else working on other apps right now just in case? I am and it’s so hard to write about why I want to go anywhere else as I anxiously await NU’s decision! aghhhh

@cocoa546 I’ve been working on some other apps but don’t want to submit many until I absolutely need to. For now I’m just trying to have them ready so that if NU doesn’t work out I don’t have to write all my essays at the last minute

Hope for the best & prepare for the worst

This waiting is killing me, I need to know!

Yeah, exactly. What are your guys’s second choices?

179 freshman journalism majors!
But don’t worry about numbers too much, it’s too late to do change anything, just hope for the best! If you’re passionate enough to be on CC worrying about it, I’m sure it came through in your essays!
Also, if anyone else has Qs regarding NU, I’d be glad to answer!

My second choice: UNC-CH/USC/College of W&M But NU is definitely my dream.

My second choices: U of M-Ann Arbor, IU-Bloomington, UW-Madison, UIUC.

But TBH, I will be pretty devastated if I don’t get in at NU.

@kk2013, when you received your acceptance via email was there a link to a page with the letter or was the email the letter?

And @gungunbaby and @microbe: huh, none in common! My second choices are probably Boston College and Davidson College.

But I’ve always dreamed of going to Northwestern and even though I’ve tried to prepare myself for rejection I know I’ll be devastated if that’s the decision as well…I just hate waiting to find out!

So if I don’t get accepted… I’m definitely going to apply as a transfer student every year!! Do you guys think it would be a good idea to go to a university in Illinois? Maybe Urbana? Or…
