****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2019 Discussion Thread****

Ugh after i sent in my app, i was so confident. Now thats definitely dwindling!!

@alafae going to sleep earlier makes the days come faster.

From the esteemed writers of High School Musical: WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

I don’t want to do any of my homework or study for any tests I have this week. I just want to refresh my email and CC hahaha.

@gkfc13‌ I’m sort of slacking off too hahaha. Guess I’ll have to sleep earlier lol

@gkfc13 LOL SAME. I had to physically block CC from my computer a few times last week in order to get anything done. The struggle is so real.

@etphonehome2015‌ You should be blocking your email ahhaha

@alafae I really need to…

I have finals next week and cc really isn’t helping me. But I’m glad you guys are here haha

I literally cannot eat, sleep, or focus on anything else besides college. The worst thing is, I’m about 98% sure i’m not getting in. NU is my dream school but I don’t have the grades or ACT score to get in BUT my college counselor told me that within the group of people that apply ED they need a hand full of acceptances that are far below the normal rate so that technically they have a diverse group of “holistic applicants”. It was a chance that I decided to take considering I loved the school so much. I don’t have my hopes up that badly considering I have basically a 2% chance but it would be nice obviously. I JUST WANNA KNOW SOME SORT OF DECISION!!! Hope you all have a great FAST week!!!

Don’t fret @acceeptmee23! No one on here is guaranteed admission even with scores that fall within the ranges. You might have something that is different from everyone else that could score you an acceptance letter. You never know. Anything is possible, especially with the amorphous admissions process. Try to be positive (even though I know how impossible it actually is to think of anything other than getting the email) :)

@acceeptmee23 what kind of scores do you have? I’m also sort of worried about that.

Probably a little late commenting here but I AM SO STRESSED haha. If decisions don’t come out Thursday then I’ll flip. I’m going to be constantly refreshing my email. Ahhh

@etphonehome2015‌ you’re right! All we gotta do is stay positive! Thank you

@NUHopeful19‌ I have a 3.7W GPA, 25 ACT BUT I took 5 AP classes and did well in all of them, (screwed up sophomore year due to family issues, which is why my GPA is so low) I wrote really good essays, and got amazing rec letters. I worked at a special education day camp over the summer, I feed the homeless every weekend, and I have a job at an ice cream shop…hopefully they’ll look at the other components and realize that I’m more than just a lousy test taker :(

I just want to know…

I’m kinda opposite of you all. NU has been my dream school for years now, and it’s surreal that decision day is in only a few days away. In a way, I want this week to go by slowly… I’m just too scared to know! The tiny prospect of getting accepted is extremely exciting, but at the same time, I like being in this “ignorance” where you can still hope and dream about getting in. Because if I get rejected, I feel like I’ll have nothing left… anyone else with me?? Haha I guess I’m just freaking out because it’s so soon and life just went by so fast!!

@bamboo17 thats my exact rationale! At least now i can play with the prospect of getting in. Im super scared since my scores and GPA are qualified, im just worried ill be one of the many that arent “overqualified” (valedictorians/Ivy leaguers) and get rejected.

Scared as hell for NU because I am qualified but not even close to being confident of acceptance. Parchment calculated my chances at ~35% but I have amazing recs. And on the plus side I guess Materials Engineering for ED isn’t the most competitive/popular major? Anyways, fingers crossed, and good luck everyone!

Hey guys, it would be great if you guys could give me an honest opinion about my chances of getting in.

I am from the northeast in an above average school district. I have a 3.76uw, 4.635w, 2170 ACT, 33 ACT and am a three year varsity athlete. I work about 12 hours a week, volunteer, and play my sport all year round.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys

^ I am also taking all AP’s this year (Micro, Stats, Literature and Comp, Calc, Gov, Spanish Lang). Took three last year (APUSH, Psych, Language and Comp). One sophomore year (AP World). Applied to Weinstein for Economics.
